Su Xiao examined these three rewards, pondered for a moment, and decided to exchange for [Natural Source (Special Equipment)], while [Elemental Spirit] — who knew what kind of creature that was, and whether it could assist him in battle.
A crystal-formed vial appeared in Su Xiao's hand, about ten centimeters tall. Just as he was about to check the properties of [Natural Source], the corpse of Azathoth showed signs of collapsing.
Seeing this, Su Xiao quickly stepped forward, extended one hand forward flat, palm aimed at Azathoth lying on the ground.
The Soul Devourer talent activated, and a light orb floated out from within Azathoth's chest, grasped in Su Xiao's hand. This time, the soul memory contained only one type, since Azathoth's consciousness had been separated from its body.
[You have obtained 'Ancient Memory: Nameless Mist (Incomplete)'.]
[Warning: This soul memory is extremely dangerous. If the Hunter uses it, death is certain.]
[Note: The Hunter is currently under the protection of this world. In this state, the Hunter may use this soul memory without any risk.]

A black-and-white light orb merged into Su Xiao's palm. The moment he used the soul memory, the scene before him changed drastically — it was a 'viewing-type' soul memory.
An apocalyptic scene appeared. The sky was a murky yellow, and a world a thousand times larger than the Wizard World was collapsing, with spatial cracks visible everywhere.
"Leave this place. The opportunity comes only once."
The voice of Black Goat Shub came through...
Through this soul memory, Su Xiao learned that the Dominator, the Black Goat, and Azathoth had originally inhabited a world on the verge of collapse. They were once extremely powerful deities, beings at the conceptual level.
The three conceptual deities left their original world and arrived at a place called the Void, which was far more vast. As the price for leaving their original world, the three deities fell from conceptual deities to Ancient Gods.
Even so, the three Ancient Gods remained powerful — at least within the month after arriving in the Void, they encountered no opponents.
After arriving in the Void, Azathoth, Shub, and Sothis set up an altar and caused a race to live in fear — do not explore, do not know, do not spy on the gods.
Doing such things was routine for Azathoth, Shub, and Sothis. At least in their original world, they had always acted this way. Some had opposed them, only to die in despair.
Just as Azathoth, Shub, and Sothis were preparing to make more races live in fear of them, they happened upon five humans. The conversation of those five humans was something Azathoth remembered vividly until its death.
"Oh, is this an Ancient God?"
"Seems like it, but the elemental fluctuations around it..."
"A rare breed of Ancient God. Is this a hybrid? Whatever, they've mildly disrupted the elemental balance. Capture them."
"Don't just put everything into cages. That's not a good habit."
"Stop chatting, Mawen. They look pretty ferocious. Let's just kill them on the way."
"Don't kill them. Hybrid Ancient Gods are very rare!"
This simple conversation stirred a trace of anger in Azathoth — an emotion it hadn't felt in a long time. So it decided to make these five humans who called themselves Law Destroyers taste centuries of fear, ultimately letting them die in terror.
The battle began. The battle ended quickly. Azathoth, Shub, and Sothis were all pinned to the ground and beaten.
Azathoth, Shub, and Sothis, who barely escaped, arrived at the Wizard World. Although their power had severely declined, here they were the strongest.
If it weren't for a madwoman who wanted to put them in cages to study exactly what species they were, their chances of escaping would have been virtually zero.
