Chapter 47: Meeting
Su Xiao glanced at the prompt from Reincarnation Paradise, then turned his gaze into the distance. He didn’t believe that after the explosion here, those violators would still try to intercept him.
Continuing southward through Aisenla, Su Xiao reached the southernmost point without encountering any more ambushes from the violators.
The violators weren’t stupid—or rather, having survived this long, their judgment and on-the-spot adaptability were far from lacking.
The violators had already fled. They might have been tricked by Sfenke into stepping into the abyss once, but that didn’t mean they’d let themselves be used again.
Sfenke had been forced into a corner, using the violators out of desperation. If not for those 64 violators blocking the way, he would have been blown to bits by Apollo by now.
A cool night breeze swept through. Su Xiao, holding a glass rod, stood on a stone bridge. Several hundred meters away, a building over ten meters tall loomed.
Sfenke stood atop the stone structure, his white suit strikingly visible under the moonlight.
“Kukulin, your follower dog… is quite troublesome.”
Sfenke smiled as he looked at Su Xiao in the distance. Flanking him were three figures: a little girl with a chubby face, a man in black combat gear carrying a sniper cannon over three meters long, and a woman with her skirt slit to the waist, her hair coiled up.
These four were clearly led by Sfenke. The other three were his trusted confidants. The sniper with naturally curly hair in black combat gear was the one who had blasted 34% of Su Xiao’s health in a single shot.
Su Xiao didn’t immediately hurl Apollo at Sfenke. The fact that the latter was waiting here meant he had a way to counter the Apollo·Modified. Moreover, the distance was too great—the sniper could likely shoot down Apollo mid-flight.
“Sfenke, he’s not even acknowledging you. And are you sure you want to do that?”
The woman with the coiled hair spoke. On her right arm, rings of white patterns were visible.
“Hurry up.”
Sfenke frowned. This confidant of his, called Lady Moon, was a serpent biting its tail under the moonlight—her only flaw being her slow pace.
“What’s the rush? I’ve set this up for so long; he can’t blow you up here.”
Lady Moon raised her other arm, blood-red patterns crawling up it.
“Lucky we had those scapegoats to buy time. Lucky indeed.”
Lady Moon clasped her hands together. One arm was covered in white patterns, the other in blood-red ones. The blood-red patterns were traced using Su Xiao’s blood—after several battles with the violators, Sfenke had inevitably collected some.
Sfenke had sacrificed over 60 violators just to buy time for Lady Moon. He had originally planned to rely on the violators to deal with Su Xiao without using his other trump card. Unfortunately, the violators weren’t united enough.
Besides, Sfenke had genuinely been stunned by the Apollo bombardment.
*Snap!*
The sharp sound of palms clapping echoed. Suddenly, Su Xiao felt a pulling force—not spatial in nature, but like a magnet drawing him in.
The pull grew stronger, so intense that the air around Su Xiao began to warp, surging in one direction.
*Bang!*
A gunshot rang out. Su Xiao sidestepped along the pull, which made his movements more than twice as fast.
*Whoosh!*
The bullet flew past Su Xiao, exploding the river behind him. Water splashed violently. To resist the pull, Su Xiao’s feet shattered large chunks of stone beneath him, nearly breaking the bridge.
“Bubu, Amu, Baha.”
The moment Su Xiao spoke, Baha appeared on his shoulder. Bubu Wang, blending into the environment, grabbed Su Xiao’s leg. Amu rushed over, but its speed wasn’t enough.
*Zzz~*
The Realm Severing Thread wrapped around Amu’s calf.
Su Xiao turned his head to look at Sfenke. The pull from his side had become irresistible.
“See you in the morning, Kukulin. I’ll still be waiting here. I hope the human form of the White Goat isn’t your type—after all, we were once allies. I still have that basic conscience.”
Sfenke adjusted his collar. As he spoke, the bridge beneath Su Xiao collapsed, and he was yanked away by the force.
“At least six seconds of pull, intensity over 8,500. Sfenke, are you telling me this is a newly promoted sixth-rank?”
Lady Moon gasped, her pale face covered in fine sweat.
…
In the night, Su Xiao flew at high speed, low over Aisenla City. He hesitated whether to use a precious item to break free from his current state.
After a moment’s thought, Su Xiao decided to observe first. If the situation turned critical, he would use that item.
As Su Xiao flew low and fast, Baha clung to his shoulder, Bubu Wang wrapped around his leg. As for Amu…
Amu was being dragged along the ground by the Realm Severing Thread tied to its calf, its head occasionally smashing into buildings—a truly miserable sight.
Su Xiao tugged the thread, pulling Amu up and grabbing its horn. Amu wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed; a few more minutes of this, and it might get concussed.
The scenery blurred past. In about ten seconds, Su Xiao had flown out of Aisenla City. But the pull only grew stronger, accelerating him further.
*Whoosh!*
Su Xiao streaked across the wilderness. After nearly five minutes of flight, he crashed into a mountain with a thunderous roar, breaking through layers of rock until he was at least a hundred meters deep.
*Boom!*
Su Xiao landed on a stone platform, debris flying. Amu rolled away, and Bubu Wang spiraled upward.
The location was a massive cavern, with glowing plants clinging to the walls.
“You are…”
A low, incredulous female voice came.
Su Xiao stood up from the crater. Even after the fall, he still held the six Apollo·Modified rods.
He looked toward the source of the voice and saw a woman in ornate clothing, her face unclear.
*Rip!*
Clothes tore. Purple-black flesh twisted and grew from every part of the woman’s body. In moments, she transformed into a monster ten meters tall and thirty meters wide, with no fixed form.
Countless purple-black tentacles writhed, each at least ten meters long—conservatively, hundreds or more.
*Roar!!*
A furious, slightly panicked roar echoed.
“Sfenke, you’d even sell her out. It seems you’ve discovered Laurent’s existence and knew I’d find this place eventually.”
Su Xiao stood up. The monster before him was the White Goat—no, according to his investigation, it was called the Black Goat·Shabu. The White Goat was one of its abilities, or rather, a split form.
Black Goat·Shabu was clearly stunned. How had a Law Destroyer suddenly appeared?
Since its emergence, Shabu had feared nothing. But long ago, it had learned to fear Law Destroyers. Those humans had taught it that once a “conceptual existence” became an Ancient God, it should behave and not wander around.
Why had Su Xiao ended up here? The answer was simple: to survive, Sfenke had used his subordinate’s ability to drag Su Xiao here—right in front of Black Goat·Shabu, with six Apollo·Modified in hand and in prime condition. The betrayal was seamless.
Sfenke had sold out Black Goat·Shabu just to get Su Xiao out of Aisenla.
Su Xiao had pulled out Apollo·Modified, and the deaths of numerous violators had pushed Sfenke to flip his last trump card. But before using it, he needed Su Xiao out of Aisenla.
Su Xiao closed the data on Black Goat·Shabu. He had only skimmed its abilities—there was no need for a detailed study.
*Crack!*
Su Xiao crushed one of the glass rods. Given Black Goat·Shabu’s massive size, even with his eyes closed, he could hit it.
The question now was: how many Apollo could Black Goat·Shabu withstand?
