# Chapter 7: The Most Tragic Boss in History

The wall of the abandoned building shattered with a crash, gravel flying everywhere, molten lava splattering in all directions. Once Amu charged in his lava state, he gave off an unstoppable momentum.

Amu stood a full three meters tall, his entire body bulging with muscles, glowing red lava veins spreading across his upper body. His slightly curved horns radiated intense heat, and the magma warhammer in his hands, over two meters long, billowed black smoke, its head covered in a layer of black volcanic rock.

Boom, boom, boom...

With each step Amu took, cracks appeared in the ground beneath him. His overwhelming momentum even forced the Wailing Queen to take half a step back.

For Amu, the Wailing Queen was hardly a formidable enemy. He had faced far too many powerful opponents, even exchanging blows with a sixth-rank boss like the Black King, let alone a mere fifth-rank minor boss.

Bang!

A piercing sound cut through the air. The Wailing Queen instinctively lowered her head, her long white hair flying wildly.

Baha, with his wings fully spread, had appeared behind the Wailing Queen without anyone noticing, his sharp claws aimed at the back of her head.

Whoosh! Baha's claws struck nothing but air, and he hurtled straight toward Amu.

Before the Wailing Queen could catch her breath, Amu had already grabbed Baha's claws and swung him back around.

"Heh!"

Baha let out a loud, arrogant laugh, his claws slashing toward the Wailing Queen's face.

The Wailing Queen had just ducked to avoid Baha's assassination attempt, but now Amu had flung Baha back at her, giving her the feeling of being attacked from both sides.

The Wailing Queen gathered her long white hair in front of her face as a shield.

"Bubu."

No sooner had Baha called out than Bubu Wang suddenly appeared and leaped up. Using Bubu Wang as a springboard, Baha abruptly changed direction and soared into the air.

The moment Baha leaped up, Amu had already thrown his magma hammer—not at the Wailing Queen, but diagonally into the air.

Everything around seemed to slow down. The magma hammer tumbled through the air. Baha's wings twitched as he adjusted his flight trajectory.

Bang!

Baha's claws landed on the magma hammer. The hammer exploded, flames spreading outward as a burst of propulsion force appeared.

Whoosh! Baha transformed into a black blur, diving down in a swooping arc toward the back of the Wailing Queen's head.

His sharp eagle claws pierced the back of the Wailing Queen's neck, first breaking through the skin. The next moment, a numbing sensation spread through her neck—Baha's poison.

Skill 7, Venom Shadow (Ultimate Skill · Passive Lv.10): Due to the creator's ability characteristics, Baha receives partial bonuses. His body contains a growing biological energy poison. Each attack can deal 130 points of true poison damage to enemies.

Note: Baha can inject all the poison into an enemy at once, dealing 2300 points of true poison damage. Baha will be weakened for 1-5 seconds.

Note: Venom Shadow is a growable ability. After Baha absorbs biological toxins from beings of higher rank than himself, the Venom Shadow level will increase, enhancing true poison damage while adding additional effects.

...

Baha injected all the poison energy in his body into the Wailing Queen at once, at the cost of falling into a weakened state.

Just at this critical moment, Bubu Wang appeared again. He leaped into the air, curled up beside Baha, then stretched out and kicked hard with his hind legs.

The moment Baha was kicked away, he grabbed Bubu Wang's tail. Though weakened, he could still maintain flight.

The Wailing Queen's claws swept through the air, leaving several gray afterimages. If they had hit Baha in his weakened state, he would have been severely injured. But Bubu Wang's timely rescue was as steady as an old dog.

Baha quickly gained altitude, flicking his claws to toss Bubu Wang onto his back.

Only then did the Wailing Queen feel the searing pain. Her arms trembled, and the blood vessels under the skin of her neck first turned cyan, then shifted toward a dark green. A full 2300 points of true poison damage—even as a boss, she couldn't withstand it.

"Ahhh!!"

A piercing scream spread outward, the sound waves crashing against the barrier 240 meters above before being absorbed by it.

Amu, Bubu Wang, and Baha's coordinated assault left the One-Eyed Captain, Zuosa, and the others utterly stunned. They even began to wonder if the boss would have been overwhelmed by those three summons even without their help.

"Don't just stand there, focus fire—"

Before the One-Eyed Captain could finish, he saw Amu charging forward.

At this moment, Amu's eyes were vacant. At the entrance of the abandoned building, Su Xiao sat on a pile of rubble, his pupils glowing a deep red, the same color as Amu's lava. That's right—Su Xiao was fully controlling Amu, a unique trait of Amu's.

Under Su Xiao's complete control, Amu's aura was noticeably different. Lava surged in his hands, forming a guardless lava longsword. The blade was a palm-width across, but its 2.3-meter length kept it from looking clumsy.

Clang.

The lava sword let out a crisp ring, as if forged from metal.

'Blade Path Sword: Flame Time.'

The two-meter-long flame sword stabbed into the ground. The surrounding dozens of meters of ground cracked with a sharp popping sound, firelight glowing from within the fissures.

This was the advantage of self-developed sword techniques. If he had learned them through skill scrolls, Su Xiao would never have been able to control Amu to use Blade Path Sword: Time.

The Wailing Queen's movements suddenly slowed. She felt like an insect trapped in amber—no matter how she struggled, it was futile.

The Wailing Queen had no desire to continue fighting. She wanted to escape as quickly as possible. That was precisely why Su Xiao had Amu intervene. If the Wailing Queen fled, the One-Eyed Captain and the others would notice something was off. These people weren't stupid—on the contrary, the One-Eyed Captain and Doro were both sharp. Any irregularity would tip them off.

For this reason, Su Xiao needed to suppress the Wailing Queen, preventing her from showing any intention to flee.

As the minor boss of "Luodan City," the Wailing Queen was no pushover. That was exactly why Su Xiao had to get serious.

'Blade Path Sword: Flame Demon.'

Amu made a slashing motion. A massive flame blade aura shot out, incredibly fast, simple and efficient. Clearly, most of Su Xiao's sword techniques had nothing to do with flashiness.

The Wailing Queen endured the searing pain throughout her body, raising her arms and long white hair to shield herself.

Boom! The Flame Demon blade aura exploded. The Wailing Queen was sent flying backward, large swaths of severed white hair burning and turning to ash in the air.

The Wailing Queen crashed to the ground with a thud. Large burns covered the skin on her arms and chest, parts of which had turned to charcoal, with sparks still flickering nearby.

With a gasp, she spat out a mouthful of blackened blood. The moment it hit the ground, it steamed with white smoke, containing cooked blood clots.

Just as the Wailing Queen was in despair, Amu collapsed to the ground, his entire body's muscles twitching. The sword technique Su Xiao had just used had caused his muscles to spasm temporarily.

Seeing this, the One-Eyed Captain knew they couldn't just watch anymore. He hadn't acted earlier because he wanted to test the new member's strength. Now it was clear—they had latched onto a powerhouse.

"Hey!"

The One-Eyed Captain, holding his metal shield, let out a roar. A brownish-yellow shockwave spread outward—a taunt-type ability.

But the Wailing Queen, after getting up, didn't even look at the One-Eyed Captain. She turned and tried to flee, fear overcoming her rage.

At this point, her escape attempt didn't matter anymore. Given the explosive power Amu had just displayed, it could easily be attributed to the Wailing Queen's fear of Amu, making her strategic retreat perfectly reasonable.

A bullet flew out, embedding itself in the back of the Wailing Queen's thigh. Blood sprayed as she stumbled a few steps.

A figure rushed in from the side—the young swordsman Zuosa. His long blade left its sheath. After discarding the scabbard, he gripped the sword with both hands.

"Time Wind Swallow Stream!"

A cyan light flashed on Zuosa's blade. The entire sword was enveloped by wind element, extending to at least five meters.

Zuosa raised his arms above his head, assuming a full-power downward slash stance. The muscles on his jaw bulged as he brought the sword down with all his might. Wind howled and thunder rumbled, the momentum astonishing.

Sensing the blade coming from her side, the Wailing Queen's blood ran cold. Lately, she had developed a fear of sword users.

The Wailing Queen tried to dodge, but a small barrier suddenly appeared beneath her feet, trapping her lower body inside.

Thirty meters away, Doro's clasped hands trembled slightly. Restraining the Wailing Queen was no easy task—she could hold her for at most 1.2 seconds.

Trapped, the Wailing Queen gritted her teeth and raised her arm to block. Her white hair wrapped around her right arm, taking on a metallic quality, forming an external defense.

Clang! The Wailing Queen's eyes widened in shock. She had prepared herself for death, but she only felt a stinging pain on her arm—just a sting.

Zuosa's cheek twitched as he pressed down hard with his sword.

The Wailing Queen was clearly confused, but that didn't stop her from attacking. She swung a claw at Zuosa.

Zuosa's body tilted sideways, as if pulled by some force. The Wailing Queen's claw came down, scraping across a shield with a harsh screech, sparks flying.

The One-Eyed Captain had swapped positions with Zuosa. He leaned into his shield, executing a beautiful power counter.

The Wailing Queen took half a step back. A pre-aimed bullet drilled into her neck. Blood and flesh splattered as the impact sent her crashing headfirst to the ground, rolling.

She didn't roll far before hitting a leg. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw it was that minotaur who had traumatized her. By now, Su Xiao had released his control over Amu—there was no longer any need.

The light returned to Amu's eyes. He bent down, grabbed the Wailing Queen by the leg. Though her aura was strong, her body was small—barely over 1.6 meters and rather thin.

A golden light entered Amu's body, causing his muscles to bulge further—a buff from the little healer.

Amu grabbed the Wailing Queen by the calf, swung her up, and slammed her into the ground with a thunderous crash.

But that wasn't the end. Amu, as if possessed, began repeatedly smashing the Wailing Queen into the ground.

Boom, boom, boom...

Rubble flew everywhere, droplets of blood splattering across the crater.

The little healer and Doro watched from a distance, suddenly feeling a bit sorry for the boss.

After at least a few minutes of this, Amu hurled the Wailing Queen to the ground and even added a magma hammer for good measure. In the stone pit, the Wailing Queen's body twitched once, then lay still.

Amu stomped on the Wailing Queen's head. Her body twitched again. At this moment, the boss actually gave off a tragic beauty. Amu's eyes glowed red—when facing enemies, he was absolutely brutal.

The frustration of wandering through an entire world vanished. If not for the outsiders present, Amu would have said: "What a weak boss."
