Chapter 32: Bubu Wang Suffers

After closing the notification from Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao did not immediately enter the spatial rift ahead. He needed to recover from his injuries as much as possible.

Su Xiao first drank a bottle of Ancient Secret Medicine, then began secondary treatment of the wound on his chest, pouring half a bottle of the medicine onto it.

With Su Xiao’s self-healing ability, along with Bubu Wang’s aura and the recovery from the ‘Life Force’ healing ability, his injuries healed at a decent pace.

Skill 2, Life Force (Active Lv.37): Remotely restores 85 points + Charm Attribute x46 health to a designated target.

After digesting the flesh of the sacrificial god-cow, Bubu Wang’s True Charm Attribute reached 105 points, slightly increasing his healing output.

After resting for a full seven hours, the sharp pain in Su Xiao’s chest finally subsided. The rumbling from the Moon Goddess Monastery in the distance still echoed intermittently. At this rate, the battle might not end before dawn, especially since the commander had withdrawn midway.

Whether the old Holy King was alive or dead was unknown, but the assassin the Moon Goddess had placed such high hopes on was likely no weakling.

Su Xiao let out a long breath, stood up, and walked to the spatial rift between the metal doors. A layer of crystal wrapped around his right arm as he tentatively extended it into the rift.

A pulling force suddenly emerged, as if hundreds of icy-cold little hands had grabbed Su Xiao’s arm. He immediately pulled back, but even with his strength, he couldn’t free it. Instead, he was gradually dragged into the rift, most of his body already inside.

“Hehehehehe…”

A sinister, yet oddly amusing, laugh came from within. Seeing this, Bubu Wang quickly stepped forward, extending a hind leg for Su Xiao to grab.

Baha was also quick-witted. Its claws reached for Bubu Wang, but hesitated just before grabbing. If it grabbed the head, its claws were too sharp.

There was no time to think. Baha clenched its metallic-feeling claws, grabbed Bubu Wang’s ears, and flapped its wings with all its might, trying to pull Su Xiao out.

“Woof!!”

Bubu Wang’s fur stood on end. With Su Xiao holding its hind leg and Baha gripping its ears, it was lifted off the ground, three legs flailing in the air, tears welling up in its eyes.

“Hold on! Something’s wrong in there!”

Baha shouted, flapping its wings even harder.

“Woof woof woof (Damn it, don’t grab my ears, grab somewhere else)!”

“Grabbing your head hurts more! Ears can grow back!”

“Woof (Damn it, ears hurt more)!”

The wind pressure from Baha’s wings sent wood chips flying around the room, accompanied by Bubu Wang’s howls.

Cyan Steel Shadow Energy surged along Su Xiao’s arm. He felt the little hands gripping him tremble and release one by one. He needed to enter the ‘City of Earth,’ but he had no intention of being dragged in by these unknown little hands.

Crack!

Hearing this sound, Bubu Wang’s three legs stiffened. It thought its ears had snapped. In reality, its ears were fine—it was the last little hand holding Su Xiao that had shattered.

The pulling force from the spatial vortex suddenly dropped significantly.

“Go in.”

Hearing this, Baha and Bubu Wang both released their grip at the same time. One man, one dog, and one bird entered the spatial rift.

With a loud crash, the metal doors closed from both sides. The mechanisms inside began to reverse, the key to the City of Earth popped out, and the broken walls rolled back, quickly returning to their original state.

Amidst the dizzying pull, Su Xiao realized one thing: compared to these wild teleportation arrays, the teleportation provided by Reincarnation Paradise was much better—at least it knocked him unconscious first.

In the spinning chaos, Su Xiao vaguely saw light ahead.

“Holy shit.”

Baha’s shout came first as it fell into the light, followed by Su Xiao, and finally Bubu Wang.

With a thud, Baha crashed onto the pitch-black ground, its wings spread wide. Just as it tried to get up, Su Xiao landed on top of it.

“My back, ooh~”

Bubu Wang landed next, sitting on Baha’s head like riding a horse, driving Baha’s beak straight into the dirt.

As soon as Bubu Wang hit the ground, it covered its ears with its front paws, rolling around in pain. It took a while to recover.

Su Xiao shook his head. White spots flickered before his eyes—the sensation of seeing stars.

“Oh my god.”

Baha pulled its head out of the dirt, about to catch its breath, when Su Xiao, still seeing double, pressed its head back into the ground.

Su Xiao almost lost his balance and nearly fell. He simply lay down on the ground. This was the wildest teleportation he had ever experienced. Even the spatial arrays built by the ‘Spatial Genius’ Lilim weren’t this bumpy. Someone with weaker constitution might have died inside.

After lying for a few minutes, Su Xiao recovered. He took a deep breath. The air was unusually fresh, with the scent of soil and a faint sweetness, quickly clearing his mind and dispelling the lingering effects of the dizziness.

Su Xiao looked around. Everywhere he saw was barren—black earth devoid of any vegetation. The sky was low and oppressive, dark and heavy.

Thump, thump, thump…

A dull sound came from nearby. Su Xiao followed it to find a hunched old man in tattered black sackcloth. The clothes were so worn they looked like a single piece of black cloth draped over him. His face was so aged it was impossible to tell gender. He carried a turtle shell about a meter in diameter, tapping it with a leg bone.

“Young man, want to buy some water?”

The hunched old man stopped a few meters away. An iron ring pierced his chin, from which hung an iron oil lamp. The lamp’s cover was covered in grime, and the metal frame was rusted.

“What’s the price?”

“Half your soul.”

The old man let out a sinister laugh, revealing only a few blackened teeth.

“Not interested.”

“Pity. Hope you leave here alive.”

The old man tapped his turtle shell and walked away, just as Reincarnation Paradise had indicated—before angering the Moon Goddess, the plot characters in the City of Earth remained neutral.

Su Xiao looked into the distance. Under the dim light of the sky, he saw a towering tree, easily several hundred meters high.

Just as Su Xiao prepared to head toward the giant tree, a spatial rift appeared. A figure, semi-transparent with long fluorescent blue hair and a frail build, fell out of the rift.

Seeing this figure, Su Xiao gripped the hilt of Dragon-Slaying Flash. This frail figure was the crying woman who had sat on the flowerbed in the monastery’s backyard and torn off the little adjutant’s arm.

The crying woman was also dazed from the teleportation. She barely stood up, took a few steps sideways, then tripped over her own feet and fell flat.

“Wah wah wah…”

The crying woman let out soft sobs, filled with grievance, helplessness, and a soul-deep longing for help.

Su Xiao could sense that her aura was strange. It felt like standing naked on an icefield, letting the wind cut like blades, unable to do anything.

After crying for a while, the crying woman looked around. When she saw Su Xiao, she immediately tried to cover her face with her hands. Her soul felt a sense of familiarity, almost fearing that a familiar face would see her like this—once a lover of beauty, now turned into a monster.

“Empire’s Flower, Sonia.”

Su Xiao had long recognized the crying woman. Few beauties in the Empire could retain such allure even after becoming a monster.

“Ah!”

The crying woman, Sonia, let out a ‘scream’ and turned to run. Honestly, with her running speed, if they really fought, Su Xiao wouldn’t be able to finish her off quickly.
