Chapter 6: I Don’t Accept It, You’re Cheating

Su Xiao charged toward the combat healer, a cold gleam flashing along the blade in his hand.
The combat healer had just raised her staff.
Puchi.
An arm gripping the staff flew off, but under Reincarnation Paradise’s protection mechanism, no blood gushed out.
“Huh?”
The combat healer was utterly stunned, turning her head to glance at her severed arm.
“Holy Spirit Guard!”
A layer of light membrane formed around the combat healer, cold sweat seeping from her back. Although death in the arena wasn’t real, being targeted by Su Xiao was far from pleasant.
Su Xiao abruptly stopped, then swung his blade in reverse.
With a crack, the light membrane around the combat healer shattered.
The audience erupted in murmurs, many rising to their feet. This match was completely unexpected—they had assumed both sides would struggle fiercely, but instead, it was a one-sided massacre.
After breaking the membrane, Su Xiao didn’t strike again. This was his first encounter with a combat healer, and he wanted to understand her fighting style.
Unexpectedly, the combat healer stood still.
“Not continuing? I’m curious about how you fight.”
Su Xiao twirled Dragon-Slaying Flash in his hand, the blade humming sharply.
“I must have forgotten to check the almanac before leaving today. How did I end up against a freak like you? How is your rank around ten thousand?”
The combat healer’s delicate brows furrowed.
“To be precise, my rank is outside ten thousand.”
Su Xiao’s reply left the combat healer speechless.
“Holy Shield.”
“Power’s Blessing.”
“Phoenix Melody.”
“Rapid March.”
“Mana Amplification.”
“Mana Super Amplification.”
“Life Recovery.”
The combat healer unleashed a flurry of skills, then stood still again.
“This is my fighting style—boosting myself with various buffs and weakening enemies with debuffs. Can we end this now? Dying in the arena isn’t real, but it still hurts.”
Facing a close-combat expert like Su Xiao, the combat healer was exasperated. Her rank was about to drop.
“Fine.”
As soon as he spoke, Su Xiao received a prompt.
He chose to accept, and the combat healer’s body dissipated before him.
A line of golden, glowing characters appeared above Su Xiao’s head, and the audience grew even more restless.
“Eighteen consecutive wins? Are you kidding me?”
“With strength like that, eighteen wins isn’t surprising, but that record is insane.”
“I need to take a screenshot.”
Amid the roaring cheers of the crowd, Su Xiao exited the arena and returned to his rest pod.
After five consecutive wins, his rank had started jumping dramatically, and after ten, it became even more exaggerated.
Su Xiao didn’t know how long his streak could last—after all, there’s always someone stronger.
Still full of energy, he decided to continue matching opponents.
As Su Xiao stepped onto the arena platform, he immediately heard shouts from all around.
“Young Miss, crush him!”
“We’ve got your back!”
“Hey, knife-wielding punk, if you dare hurt the Young Miss, we’ll roast you!”
The barrage of shouts puzzled Su Xiao. Glancing at the audience, he saw a banner unfurled on the left side.
Su Xiao was dumbfounded. He felt like he wasn’t on an arena stage but standing on a celebrity’s platform, like a staff member who’d wandered into a crowd of rabid fans being bombarded with insults.
He turned to his opponent—a four-meter-tall pink robot. In the robot’s torso was a cockpit, and through the glass, he could see a little girl with twin ponytails sitting inside, a lollipop in her mouth.
“How long are you going to stare? I just upgraded my exoskeleton and firepower system. Ranking up doesn’t leave time for dawdling.”
The twin-tailed girl, whom the crowd called Young Miss, spoke, her voice amplified through a device.
“A Gundam? No, a modified giant robot?”
Su Xiao felt fortunate for joining the arena—he could face all kinds of enemies, which would greatly benefit his future adventures in derivative worlds.
“If you’re not making a move, I won’t hold back. Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance.”
As the Young Miss finished speaking, the robot raised an arm, and a six-barreled Vulcan cannon popped out from it.
Wroom—rat-tat-tat-tat…
A torrent of firepower surged forward, and Su Xiao immediately dodged.
Though the six-barreled Vulcan cannon looked like a Gatling gun, it wasn’t a gun—it was a cannon! The U.S. military even mounted these on helicopters, a testament to their power.
If Su Xiao were caught in a direct barrage, he wouldn’t survive. Fortunately, the high-explosive rounds it fired had a slow trajectory.
Su Xiao sidestepped, explosions erupting around him.
“Not bad, huh? Here’s more.”
The Young Miss laughed, lollipop in her mouth, revealing two small dimples.
A frenzy of gunfire and explosions ensued, but the Young Miss soon realized something was wrong. No matter how intense her firepower, it couldn’t stop the enemy from closing in.
Inside the cockpit, the Young Miss puffed out her cheeks, her small, fair hands flicking switches with lightning speed, her slender fingers leaving afterimages.
While the Young Miss was frantically busy, Su Xiao remained calm and composed, weaving through the attacks as he approached the robot.
Seeing Su Xiao closing in, the four-meter-tall robot quickly retreated—not fast, but not slow either.
In two steps, Su Xiao caught up and brought his blade down.
Ding.
A mechanical leg, sparking with electricity, was severed, and the robot toppled sideways.
Attacking the robot further was pointless. Su Xiao leaped up, reversed his grip on Dragon-Slashing Flash, and stabbed it into the cockpit.
Kacha.
The blade pierced the cockpit’s bulletproof glass, sinking in to the hilt. Just as Su Xiao checked if he’d hit the enemy, a shockwave erupted.
Boom.
Su Xiao was knocked back two steps, and the robot used the chance to get up.
Inside the cockpit, the Young Miss looked disheveled—her lollipop was gone, and one of her ponytails had been sliced off. Spoiled since childhood, she had never been in such danger.
“Die, you bastard! Eat my missiles!”
The Young Miss gritted her small, neat teeth and unleashed her final move.
A dozen small missiles shot out, and a thunderous roar filled the arena, engulfing it in flames.
When the fire faded, the robot had vanished, leaving only Su Xiao.
“The main body is really weak.”
Su Xiao shook a few severed strands of hair from his left hand, which slowly dissolved into particles of light.
Before the rabid fans in the audience could react, Su Xiao’s figure had already disappeared.
“The Young Miss lost?”
“Looks like it.”
The fans stopped their threats—they were all talk.
In a rest pod, the Young Miss sat on the floor, fuming.
“Damn it! That bastard, pulling me out of the cockpit by my hair! I don’t accept it! I don’t accept it! How could anyone survive that kind of firepower?”
Her chest heaved with anger, but she had lost. What she didn’t know was that Su Xiao hadn’t even been serious.
……
At that moment, Su Xiao was checking his record. He hadn’t gone all out earlier, or the opponent wouldn’t have had a chance to struggle so long, and he wouldn’t have learned about that type of enemy’s fighting style.
He noticed he hadn’t received any messages from opponents in a while, so he opened his inbox.
‘You’re cheating, you’re cheating, you’re cheating…’
Those three words filled the screen. Su Xiao shook his head. How had someone with such a childish personality survived in Reincarnation Paradise and grown to this level?
