Chapter 63: Help from the Wind Prince

Outside the light cocoon, Su Xiao took a deep breath and pulled the Dragon-Slaying Flash free with all his strength. After those two slashes, his arms were completely numb and needed a moment to recover, otherwise it would affect his ability to continue swinging the blade.

With his arms temporarily unusable, Su Xiao still had his legs. The Wood Spirit clung to his calves, and the kinetic combat boots activated. Su Xiao crouched, bending his knees, and after charging for 2 seconds, he delivered a side kick toward the light cocoon.

Thump!

A shockwave spread outward, sweeping away the gravel on the ground. The light cocoon had strong defense against sharp blade strikes, but it was somewhat weak against blunt force.

The light cocoon, like a squeezed bun, flew with a whoosh toward the inside of the mountain.

Boom!

It was as if explosives had been detonated inside the mountain, with gravel scattering like flowers in the wind.

Inside the light cocoon, Moi Nora spat out blood with a gulp, his expression gloomy as if saying, "Just wait until I get out of here."

Crack!

A crisp metallic sound rang out as Su Xiao pulled the bolt of the Duke of Annihilation, raised the gun, aimed, and fired in one fluid motion.

Bang! The dust around Su Xiao was kicked up half a meter high by the recoil of the Duke of Annihilation as the earth-type bullet left the barrel.

Another loud explosion came from inside the mountain, and this wasn't the end. Su Xiao continued pulling the bolt, firing shot after shot into the mountain. The light cocoon was twisted and deformed by the impacts; slashing attacks were ineffective, but blunt force was very effective.

Just as Su Xiao was bombarding the light cocoon shot after shot, a pitch-black figure leaped down from the edge of the Mist Valley. This was a humanoid creature nearly four meters tall, having tracked him all the way here.

The humanoid creature jumped into the magma below the valley. With a sizzle, green smoke rose, and the creature paid no attention to the temperature of the magma beneath its feet.

This humanoid creature was named Zang Ge, a void creature from the middle layers of the Black Abyss, a combat race capable of quickly adapting to harsh environments, even surviving in oxygen-free conditions.

Zang Ge's four-meter height was imposing, not to mention his muscles like forged iron. Just standing there, he gave off a sense of pressure.

Having tracked him this far, Zang Ge was clearly displeased, dissatisfied with the prey. He had practically circled the continent, starting from the eastern teleport point, tracking deep into the east, then entering the central region, and even going to the western port in the west, only to find a ruined castle there.

Now, he had finally tracked down the prey. As a member of the Bajing Si tribe, he was confident in his tracking abilities—though that was just his own feeling.

Sensing the prey's aura nearby, Zang Ge's mouth seemed to want to curl into a smile, but he suddenly remembered he was a hired killer in the void. He couldn't show any expression. He was cold, he had no emotions.

Zang Ge's muscles surged as he confirmed his good condition, then he leaped up.

Boom!

Just as he landed in a high mountain hollow, a loud noise reached Zang Ge's ears. He saw his prey holding a heavy sniper rifle, bombarding the inside of the mountain.

Zang Ge also used such heavy firepower weapons, though he wasn't exceptional among his kind in this regard. He could snipe prey 2 to 3 kilometers away without issue.

"Law Destroyer!"

Zang Ge shouted, and the gunfire stopped. Su Xiao turned to look at the burly man, or rather, the unknown creature.

Through initial observation, Su Xiao judged that this four-meter-tall guy wasn't a native of the Dark Crow Continent, because his aura was very abnormal.

This abnormal feeling was somewhat familiar to Su Xiao. Combined with the other's shout of "Law Destroyer," the identity of the newcomer was clear: a void creature!

Su Xiao frowned. The situation was becoming chaotic. The Moi Nora inside the light cocoon could jump out at any moment, and now there was another void creature. Judging by the other's gaze, he clearly wasn't here to help Su Xiao deal with Moi Nora.

Carefully observing the void creature's appearance, Su Xiao thought of a combat race: the Bajing Si tribe. Dark skin, humanoid, hairless, with a metallic texture on the surface.

Although Su Xiao didn't fully recognize all void races, through his experiences in the Demon Castle and the information provided by the Succubus Lilim, he understood most of them.

Su Xiao couldn't be sure if this guy was indeed from the Bajing Si tribe, because he was too tall. Normally, Bajing Si tribe members were around three meters tall, with a maximum of three and a half meters. If this four-meter muscular man was really from the Bajing Si tribe, he was clearly a small giant level.

"Bajing Si tribe?"

Su Xiao spoke while pulling the trigger. The gun roared as he prepared to stabilize the void creature first, then try to kill Moi Nora with the Duke of Annihilation.

"That's right."

Zang Ge slightly raised his chin, seemingly proud of his Bajing Si tribe identity.

"Sent by the Arcane Eternal Star?"

Su Xiao fired another shot.

"That's the client's confidential information."

Zang Ge snorted coldly. Hearing his response, Su Xiao confirmed he was hired by the Arcane Eternal Star, and half the weight lifted from his heart. The Bajing Si tribe was a famous mercenary race in the void, or rather, a killer race. They didn't work, didn't produce—note, not unwilling, but completely unable.

They lived off assassination commissions. These guys were famously poor in the void, also famously strong in combat, and equally famously simple-minded—though combat ability was an exception.

Su Xiao glanced at Zang Ge's upper arm, where there was a cross-shaped scratch mark. This indicated the other had just recently come of age, perhaps even still training in the Black Abyss before taking on commissions.

"Law Destroyer, are you ready to meet death?"

Zang Ge clenched his fist, causing a sonic boom with his grip strength.

...

Void, Arcane Eternal Star, inside a nearly thousand-meter-tall magic tower.

The view was filled with blue crystals, with terrifying elemental magic energy conducting through the crystals, eventually converging into a single point.

Crack, crack, crack...

The crystals shattered, and a fair arm emerged from the blue crystal.

"Meditating for so long..."

The woman inside the crystal spoke. The crystals around her broke apart, and with a casual gesture, a cup of steaming hot black tea appeared in her hand.

"Luna Lu, tell me what happened during my meditation."

The woman made a gesture to sit, and as she assumed the sitting position, a chair appeared behind her, floating in midair, ignoring gravity.

"Lady Sage, recently..."

A small fairy pierced through space and began chattering about recent events. The woman sipped her black tea while flipping through a thick book.

"Wait, you said earlier that a Law Destroyer appeared outside the void and entered an unknown world?"

The woman paused her hand while turning the page. Her name was Sefeiliya, known as the Mage Sage, a major figure in the void.

"Yes, Lady. The Wind Prince has already sent people. After all, he has had contact with that Law Destroyer."

"Who did he send? That kind of enemy isn't easy to enter."

"Reportedly, he hired a killer from the Bajing Si tribe."

The small fairy circled around Sefeiliya as she spoke, leaving a trail of light particles in the air.

"Bajing Si tribe?"

Sefeiliya, who had been calm just moments ago, stood up.

"Yes, Lady. The Bajing Si tribe is very strong. There shouldn't be any problem, right?"

"..."

Sefeiliya's expression began to sour. The Bajing Si tribe was indeed strong, but they were also very stupid. This left Sefeiliya puzzled: why did the Wind Prince take the initiative to handle this matter? That prince was famously a homebody.

What Sefeiliya didn't know was that Su Xiao and the Wind Prince had a considerable friendship. The two had cooperated in the void arena to scam many people and had fought together.
