Chapter 30: Clan Extermination
Purple light flickered in the witch’s eyes. She was currently in a state of avatar fusion, her physical attributes not inferior to a melee fighter’s.
The witch raised her pale arm. With a *boom*, the surrounding air exploded. This witch seemed capable of manipulating the air.
Just then, a spear silently appeared behind her. The witch’s cheek twitched as she aimed her palm backward.
*Bang!* A figure materialized out of thin air. Large splatters of blood flew as a Toothbone Clan native had his lower body blasted apart by an air cannon. His eyes rapidly filled with blood.
“Balakaya (Native language: Be with me).”
The Toothbone Clan member, his lower body shattered, slapped the ground beneath him and lunged straight at the witch.
“Kaya (Be with me).”
Dozens of figures emerged from behind the surrounding trees and vines. They were all watching the Toothbone Clan member whose lower body was destroyed. Seeming to notice this, that Toothbone Clan member revealed a smile on his face.
*Bang!*
Shattered bones and shredded flesh splattered everywhere. The witch stepped back. Several broken teeth embedded themselves into her lower abdomen. Though the wounds were not deep, the psychological blow was significant.
A small, thin figure charged out. He was also deathly pale all over. He rushed to the pile of flesh and devoured several large mouthfuls before glaring at the witch with red-rimmed eyes. The Toothbone Clan member who had just died was this child’s father.
Seeing this, the witch’s cheek trembled. She had always believed that the madness of witches was what made them fearsome. But today, she realized that compared to these Toothbone Clan members, they, the witches, were not mad at all.
The bereaved child’s eyes held no sorrow. He just stared at the witch.
“Balakaya (Native language: Be with me)!”
Loud roars came from all around the witch. The witch let out a bitter laugh. She was doomed. Not even a Fourth Stage witch, perhaps not even a Fifth Stage witch, would dare to face the Toothbone Tribe alone.
“Hu…man?”
A deep male voice came from above the witch. The witch looked up and saw a humanoid creature about four meters tall, crouching on a tree branch. The humanoid creature’s skin was pitch black. This blackness didn’t look like skin color, but more like the luster of metal.
The humanoid creature leaped down from the tree with agile movements. It stood before the witch, looking down at her. Their eyes met. The humanoid creature’s stark white pupils filled the witch with a sense of dread. This was not fear from within her heart, but from the depths of her soul.
“Strange…little thing.”
The humanoid creature seemed not very proficient in human language, but it was learning at an astonishing speed.
“Tch.”
Looking at the humanoid creature’s condescending gaze, the witch’s expression darkened. She could die, but she would not be looked down upon.
“Get lost.”
The witch raised her hand. Just as she was about to manipulate the surrounding air to blast the humanoid creature apart, a black shadow appeared before her eyes.
*Bang!*
A sonic boom came. It wasn’t produced by the witch manipulating the air, but by the humanoid creature’s punch.
Drops of blood splattered in mid-air. The witch’s headless corpse fell to the ground. From start to finish, she had no idea what had happened.
The humanoid creature tossed the head in its hand. Its four-meter height did not make it look clumsy at all. Instead, it appeared well-proportioned. Its tall and strong physique was its advantage.
The surrounding Toothbone Clan members gradually closed in. Several tentacles extended from the humanoid creature’s fingertips and penetrated the witch’s skull. After a moment, it discarded the witch’s head.
“So, it’s a spiritual condensation entity. Similar to the growth method of the Badoe Clan.”
The humanoid creature’s human language was noticeably more fluent. Its gaze swept around. Its thick toes sank into the soil.
*Boom!* A sonic boom spread. The humanoid creature vanished. When it reappeared, it held several Toothbone Clan heads in its hands. From these heads, it was clear that the few slain Toothbone Clan members had been bewildered.
Two hours later, blazing firelight illuminated the nighttime forest. Inside the Toothbone Tribe, corpses lay scattered everywhere near the wooden tents. The humanoid creature was holding a Toothbone Clan member with one hand. Its stature was too tall, so the Toothbone Clan member could only kick its legs uselessly in the air.
“Sakamina yite (Where is the nearest human civilization).”
Hearing the humanoid creature’s question, the Toothbone Clan member in its hand was stunned. This language was only known by members of the Toothbone Tribe.
“Ptooey.”
Clearly, this Toothbone Clan member was tough. *Crack.* The Toothbone Clan member’s head was crushed. Judging by the humanoid creature’s casual demeanor, it was like crushing a walnut.
The forest fire gradually consumed the thousands of corpses. The humanoid creature walked unhurriedly through the flames. Fire of this temperature was merely warm to it.
…
Three days later, Dark Crow Continent, Western Region, Yage Gobi Desert.
A gale raged. Large grains of sand pelted a carriage, crackling and popping.
Inside the carriage, Su Xiao repeatedly examined the map in his hands. He was puzzled. According to the route on the map, he should be heading straight for West Port. How could he have arrived at a Gobi desert?
“Are you sure the route is correct?”
Su Xiao glanced at Melody. After entering this Gobi desert, Melody often seemed distracted.
“Absolutely right. That…”
Melody hesitated. Su Xiao revealed a smile. Seeing Su Xiao smile, Melody shuddered. After several days of contact, she knew that if she continued to be evasive, she would be in trouble. The last time Su Xiao smiled at her like that, he hung her behind the carriage all night.
“If, I mean if, when I meet Witch Queen Morisha, could I possibly avoid her? Between the two of us, uh… there’s a little… personal grudge.”
Melody smiled charmingly, clearly feeling very guilty.
“Tell me about it.”
“It’s nothing really. When I escaped from West Port, you know, a weak woman like me naturally needed travel expenses, so I stole a few things from Witch Queen Morisha…”
“Just this trivial matter?”
The smile on Su Xiao’s face became even more ‘gentle.’
“That thing… is a bit important to Witch Queen Morisha. I swear, just a tiny bit important.”
“…”
Su Xiao said nothing. The implication was simple: if Melody continued to hem and haw, she would enjoy the ‘VIP treatment’ of being hung upside down for a night in the exclusive seat.
“I just stole the heirloom that Witch Queen Morisha had passed down for nine generations…”
The more Melody spoke, the more guilty she felt. It was easy to imagine that losing a heirloom passed down for nine generations, Witch Queen Morisha would do more than just skin Melody alive.
“Where is that thing now?”
“Lost it…”
Melody shrank her neck. This was what frustrated her even more. If nothing unexpected happened, that thing should be in the Southern Region.
“Just this?”
Su Xiao looked at Melody suspiciously. He had thought she had tried to assassinate Witch Queen Morisha. Bubu Wang, who was listening in, rolled his eyes. He had thought it was something major. When it came to stealing treasures, he knew someone more professional.
As the two talked, the wind and sand outside the carriage gradually subsided. Melody quickly poked her head out.
“Stop. Ahead is West Port. If we go any further, we’ll definitely be detected.”
Su Xiao also looked outside the carriage. He didn’t see the sea, only a vast expanse of sprawling mountain ranges. However, judging from the fluctuations on the mountain range, West Port had arrived.
