# Chapter 19: Give a Bad Speech and I'll Chop You Up
"Help!"
Allen struggled desperately on the giant's nape, but due to his overall weakness, he couldn't break free from the muscles enveloping him.
"What a miraculous sight."
Hange Zoe lightly touched the giant's bones and looked at Allen struggling on the giant's nape as if examining a treasure.
"We absolutely must get Allen for research, even if it costs us our lives."
"Right, we must secure him."
Erwin also stepped forward, looking up at Allen suspended in midair.
A crisp *clang* rang out as the giant's ribs were severed, and Mikasa burst out from within the giant's skeletal structure.
"Allen!"
Mikasa used her Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear to approach Allen and helped him break free from the muscles.
"Commander, if Eren Yeager is loyal to humanity, he might be able to transform into a giant and lift that massive boulder, sealing the hole the giant kicked open."
The timing was right, so Su Xiao offered his opinion.
"That idea might be feasible, but it still depends on whether Eren Yeager is loyal to humanity."
Erwin didn't agree immediately, and Su Xiao didn't press further. That would only backfire and arouse suspicion. It was enough to plant the idea in Erwin's mind.
Allen was stripped from the giant's body, and the massive skeletal frame began to vaporize.
Steam billowed, turning the surroundings white.
"Everyone fall back."
In the blinding steam, everyone retreated more than ten meters, forming a tight cluster at the edge of the steam where visibility was higher, warily watching the interior.
The giant Allen had transformed into was too peculiar. No one knew if the steam was toxic. The Survey Corps members were this cautious; having lived on the brink of death for years, this very caution kept them alive outside the dangerous walls.
"Mikasa, I want to leave here."
Allen suddenly spoke from within the steam.
"Huh?"
Mikasa was startled.
"I remember now. I do have the ability to turn into a giant, and this power was given to me by my father. I can't recall what happened after that, but I have to get to that basement. If I can reach it, I'll learn the truth about the giants and save tens of thousands of people."
Allen's breathing was rapid, but he had already gotten past his initial panic.
"Go back to Maria Wall? Can we do that? There are a lot of giants there."
Armin considered carefully but didn't dismiss the idea of leaving, because Allen was about to be executed.
"We can do it. I have a feeling... I can control this giant power. This skeletal frame is just a part of it. If I use my full strength, I can transform into that fifteen-meter-class giant like before... probably."
The three exchanged glances and finally nodded in unison.
"Let's go."
"Oh? Are you planning to desert? Stay here and 'do your job' properly."
Su Xiao's figure emerged from the steam, holding Dragon-Slaying Flash. He had already heard Allen's words, and the plan was at its most critical stage.
Allen had initially grasped control of his giant power, at least realizing he could transform. That was a good start.
Now, Allen just needed to demonstrate his loyalty to humanity.
"You bastard..."
Mikasa felt a hint of despair. She had confidence in escaping alone, but if she had to bring the weakened Allen, there was no way they could get away.
The girl was still too confident. Su Xiao had only shown his ability to kill giants, but his blade technique was actually better suited for killing people. Under Su Xiao's blockade, even she couldn't escape on her own.
Under Su Xiao's blade technique, Mikasa would only end up being ground into the dirt. She had learned how to fight giants.
"Shut up and listen. Time is short. Once the steam clears, the Military Police will close in."
Su Xiao approached the three. Mikasa and Armin were on full alert, while Allen took a step back. This young man had a shadow over him from Su Xiao, after all, he had been stepped on for quite a while.
"So you admit you can turn into a giant now?"
Allen hesitated, then finally nodded.
"Good. Then listen carefully to what I'm about to say. Allen, keep your mouth shut. Your ability to express yourself is terrible."
Allen wanted to explain but didn't know what to say.
"Armin, Allen being able to turn into a giant isn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as he can show his loyalty to humanity, he can avoid death.
Remember the massive boulder that was kicked out of the three holes in the wall? If Allen can lift that boulder and seal the hole, he'll be a hero who saves tens of thousands of people.
Allen, you should know best what it feels like to be displaced, right? That's exactly what the civilians inside Rose Wall are experiencing now, just like you five years ago. And you can save them, as long as you lift those boulders and plug the holes."
Su Xiao's words weren't loud, but all three heard them clearly.
"I can save tens of thousands of people like me who have lost their homes?"
Allen looked at his own hands, an involuntary smile spreading across his face.
"Yeah, you can."
Su Xiao guided him.
"Allen, don't believe him. This guy is a lying bastard."
Allen seemed not to hear Mikasa's words. The chance to save tens of thousands of people had already captivated him; after all, he was a very righteous young man.
"Mikasa, maybe this method is actually feasible. Besides, we can't leave now anyway."
Armin didn't fully trust Su Xiao's words, but he took Su Xiao's suggestion to heart.
"Are you really thinking about humanity? You didn't reject me, a monster like me, but instead want me to save more people."
Allen stared blankly at Su Xiao. Su Xiao's cheek twitched. Was this idiot kid actually grateful to him?
When Mikasa heard Allen's words, her vision went dark, and she closed her eyes in despair.
At that moment, a thought emerged in Mikasa's mind: 'Allen is so stupid, and this guy is a bad person.'
"Remember, don't open that clumsy mouth of yours unless it's a critical moment. Let Armin do the talking, since he's better with words."
Su Xiao retreated into the steam. It was about to dissipate.
"Allen, what do we do?"
Armin sought Allen's opinion.
"What else? Of course, we find a way to make them believe me. Even if I die, it doesn't matter as long as I can save the civilians inside Rose Wall."
"Allen!"
Mikasa shouted urgently.
"It's decided. Armin, you handle the negotiations. I'll find a way to prove myself."
The steam completely cleared, and what greeted Allen and the others were rows of gun muzzles. The Military Police had retreated and brought back several cannons, already loaded and ready to fire at any moment.
"Hands up, get on the ground."
Nile Dawk stepped forward with murderous intent. He had decided to blast Allen and the others to death with cannons. Allen had now been handed over to the Military Police for processing.
"Nile Dawk, stand down."
Darius Zackly's unceremonious voice rang out.
"Commander-in-Chief, earlier it was..."
"The verdict has changed. Eren Yeager is now transferred to the Survey Corps."
Darius Zackly stared at Allen. This was an opportunity for humanity.
"But Commander-in-Chief..."
Before Nile Dawk could finish, he noticed several people closing in on him.
Su Xiao, Erwin, and Hange Zoe formed a semi-encirclement, approaching Nile Dawk.
"You... what do you mean by this? Are you trying to betray the kingdom?"
Nile Dawk's eyes showed panic. The situation on the wall was slipping beyond his control.
"This is wartime. I have the authority to override certain opinions of the royal family. From now on, the Military Police are on first-level combat readiness, preparing to engage the giants."
Darius Zackly's words stunned Nile Dawk.
"Us, engage the giants? That's impossible."
"Oh? Isn't the Military Police responsible for guarding the interior of the walls?"
Su Xiao's words left Nile Dawk speechless. Nile Dawk lowered his gaze. The situation was bad. Commander-in-Chief Darius Zackly was clearly siding with the Survey Corps.
Nile Dawk was still judging the situation based on past experience, thinking Darius Zackly would be constrained by the royal family's interference.
But he didn't consider that now that Rose Wall was breached, if they continued their infighting, humanity wouldn't be far from extinction.
Even the royal family would remain silent now, because they didn't want to die. They had lost their greatest trump card, which was hidden within Allen, though the royal family didn't know that yet.
"Eren Yeager, show me right now how loyal you are to humanity. This will determine whether you live or die."
Darius Zackly stared at Allen. If Allen couldn't demonstrate his loyalty now, he would truly die.
The wall was breached, the battle was urgent.
Su Xiao gave Armin a look, meaning: start your performance, and if you perform badly, I'll chop you up.
