Chapter 85: Death Roll
In the swamp's mud, the Yellow Spring Swamp Crocodile lay motionless like a piece of driftwood, its head covered in crisscrossing scars that looked like scratches from other polar creatures.
This giant crocodile was waiting for prey to come to it. While its strength was terrifying, its speed was a weakness. With only 52 points of Agility, it couldn't chase down other polar creatures.
The Yellow Spring Swamp Crocodile had a unique habit—it rarely hunted ordinary animals unless it was starving enough to eat anything.
Don't assume that because its Agility was only 52 points, it would be clumsy. Over long distances, its speed was indeed poor, but in close-quarters ambushes, its leaping speed was astonishing.
Su Xiao lay on a tree branch above the Yellow Spring Swamp Crocodile, while Bubu Wang crouched in a nearby patch of grass. Amu, being larger, hid farther away.
Bubu Wang poked his head out of the grass, slowly approached the crocodile, and looked it up and down. He even made a peace sign with his paw, taking a photo with the giant crocodile. From start to finish, this leader-class creature, over ten meters long, didn't notice Bubu Wang's presence.
More interestingly, the Jungle Cat, who had been out treasure hunting, was also nearby. It had run into Su Xiao by chance, or rather, it had a grudge against the Yellow Spring Swamp Crocodile.
In the Jungle Cat's mind, any fish belonged to it, and crocodiles were no exception. So it often harassed the crocodile. The crocodile was helpless—the Jungle Cat was too fast, its normal speed exceeding the crocodile's burst speed. The crisscrossing scars on its head were left by the Jungle Cat.
The crocodile was thick-skinned, so the Jungle Cat couldn't do much to it.
After taking a photo, Bubu Wang patted the crocodile's head with his paw. The waiting crocodile was clearly startled.
The crocodile lifted its head, looking around in confusion. Bubu Wang's action wasn't considered an attack, and he stood in the crocodile's blind spot. When he left the environment, he immediately blended back into it.
Bubu Wang approached the crocodile, put his paw in front of his mouth, breathed on it, then tensed his body.
*Smack!* Bubu Wang slapped the crocodile across the face. With Bubu Wang's Strength now at 69 points and the sudden attack, the crocodile staggered.
After the sudden slap, the crocodile didn't immediately retaliate but paused for a moment.
Although the slap didn't hurt much, the provocation from another creature was intolerable.
The crocodile leaped half a meter into the air, mud splashing, and opened its massive mouth to bite down on Bubu Wang. Its jagged, dagger-like teeth aimed for Bubu Wang. If that bite connected, Bubu Wang would lose at least half his life.
*Whoosh...*
A whistling sound came as a blue ice warhammer flew in from a distance, spinning.
*Bam!*
Ice chips flew as the leaping crocodile was knocked off balance.
*Thud!*
Like two wooden boards slapping together, the crocodile bit down on nothing and crashed into the mud.
When the crocodile steadied itself in the mud, the dog that had slapped it was gone, replaced by a charging Minotaur.
The ice warhammer fell into the mud, freezing the surrounding area. Amu didn't pick it up but charged straight at the crocodile.
Seeing Amu rushing at it, the crocodile instinctively turned its head and bit forward, opening its jaws wide.
Instead of dodging, Amu met the attack, turning sideways mid-charge, deliberately letting the crocodile bite its torso.
Just before the bite, Amu bent its arms, using its elbows to block the incoming upper and lower jaws.
As the jaws were about to close, Bubu Wang suddenly jumped onto the crocodile's back, startling it and slowing its bite.
*Bam!*
The crocodile's upper and lower jaws were blocked by Amu's elbows. After withstanding the initial bite force, Amu extended its arms upward, pulling free from the crocodile's mouth.
The thick arm muscles bulged as Amu wrapped its arms around the crocodile's upper and lower jaws. Now, the crocodile, which had bitten Amu's torso, couldn't open its mouth.
The Yellow Spring Swamp Crocodile's strength was terrifying, but its body structure was similar to ordinary crocodiles. Crocodiles had incredible bite force, but a weakness: once they closed their mouths, if you grabbed their jaws, they couldn't break free without using a death roll.
A crocodile's jaw-opening strength was very weak. Even an ordinary person could hold a Nile crocodile's mouth shut, preventing it from opening unless it rolled its body to break free.
This was the case now. The crocodile was biting the three-meter-tall Amu and could only break free one way.
The crocodile's eyes flashed with ferocity as it pressed its short limbs against its belly, preparing to use the signature move of all crocodiles: the death roll!
A whistling sound came from above the crocodile's head. Instinctively, it tried to break free from Amu and retreat into the deep mud, but it was too late.
*Pfft!*
Dragon-Slaying Flash pierced straight through the crocodile's torso. The strike was precise, stabbing through its heart and completely penetrating its body, with the blade tip sinking into the mud below.
Su Xiao stood on the crocodile's back, pressing the blade down. *Swoosh!* The blade cut through many of the crocodile's internal organs.
The crocodile's body convulsed in pain as it tilted sideways, continuing the death roll it had started.
An irresistible force came from under Su Xiao's feet. His vision blurred, and he was flung into the mud beside him, Dragon-Slaying Flash pulled free from the crocodile's body.
Mud and water splashed as the crocodile began its death roll with Amu, spinning Amu like a propeller.
Just then, a green light flew from a distance, entering Amu's body. The four bite marks on Amu's chest and back showed signs of healing—Bubu Wang had healed Amu.
Su Xiao stood up from the mud, extending the Realm Severing Thread. The thread passed through the gap in the crocodile's mouth, wrapping around its upper jaw.
After the crocodile completed three more death rolls, the Realm Severing Thread in Su Xiao's hand pulled taut, splashing mud and water over ten meters away.
Su Xiao planted his legs in the mud, leaning back as he was dragged forward, halting the crocodile's death roll.
A black-and-white figure rushed forward—Bubu Wang. He jumped onto the crocodile's head, clawing and biting at its fish-like eyes.
Eyes were a weakness for all crocodiles. If bitten and before the death roll, gouging its eyes could give a chance to escape.
After Bubu Wang's assault, the crocodile was furious. It jerked its head, tossing Bubu Wang into the air. As Bubu hung midair, the crocodile's tail swung toward him.
Before the tail could strike, a blade flashed, and the three-meter-long crocodile tail was severed cleanly.
