# Chapter 7: Coincidence
At the border between the Saint Sordin Kingdom and the Necromancer Empire, the Wall of the Gods, the Lulimas Snowfield region.
On a massive ice wall a hundred meters high and over ten meters wide, a large group of soldiers wearing cold-weather gear were roaring. They stood in a row on the ice wall, jointly operating thousands of heavy crossbows.
*Twang!*
The taut bowstrings released, shattering large patches of falling snow. A metal bolt, at least three meters long, was fired. It didn't look like a weapon meant for humans at all.
The metal bolt tore through the air, reaching the base of the ice wall almost instantly, piercing through the body of a humanoid creature without any obstruction.
With a cracking sound, the upper half of the humanoid creature exploded, splattering pale green blood. Its lower half stumbled forward a few steps before collapsing to the ground.
Below the ice wall, countless humanoid creatures charged toward it. Their skin was deathly pale, their appearance nearly identical to humans, but their eyes were green—a sickly green that sent chills down anyone's spine just by looking at them. These were... the Necromancer Clan.
The Necromancer Clan was numerous, but they weren't cannon fodder. On the contrary, they all wore finely forged armor, their weapons gleamed, and judging by their charging formation, this was clearly a well-trained army.
"Gaite (For the King)!"
"Gaite (For the King)!"
Over a hundred thousand Necromancers roared as they charged toward the ice wall. They weren't emotionless beings. On the contrary, Necromancers were somewhat stubborn creatures—once they set their minds on something, they would accomplish it no matter the cost.
No one knew why the Necromancer Clan was so determined to attack the Wall of the Gods. The territory they occupied was far more fertile than the Saint Sordin Kingdom. Aside from the harsh climate, their resources completely surpassed those of the Saint Sordin Kingdom's lands.
The Necromancer Clan naturally developed their territory. Before the Wall of the Gods appeared, the Necromancer army completely dominated human forces. This was because their forging technology was more advanced, and their military discipline surpassed that of humans.
Necromancers had intelligence. According to investigations by human sages (Sages: similar to researchers), Necromancers had high IQs, and their creativity even exceeded that of humans.
Such a highly intelligent race, stubbornly attacking an easily defended fortress—this was something incomprehensible.
The human soldiers didn't understand, nor did their officers, but they knew one thing: they must never let the Necromancers breach the Wall of the Gods.
*Boom, boom, boom...*
The snowfield trembled as over a hundred thousand Necromancers reached the base of the ice wall. The outer side of the ice wall was nearly vertical, a hundred meters high, smooth as a mirror—extremely difficult to climb.
*Whoosh, whoosh...*
Metal bolts rained down from above, instantly skewering a thousand Necromancers, pinning them to the frozen ground.
When the Necromancers reached the base of the ice wall, they raised their arms horizontally and pulled back forcefully.
*Clink, clink, clink...*
Curved blade-like armguards extended from the Necromancers' metal bracers. They leaped almost simultaneously, hooking their arm blades into the ice wall.
Cracking sounds followed one after another. Because the ice wall was so hard, most Necromancers failed, with only a few succeeding.
They began climbing upward. Although many fell during the climb, several hundred still managed to ascend.
"Here they come again. These ice-skins are really stubborn."
A soldier on the ice wall spat. "Ice-skins" was their nickname for the Necromancers.
"Stop talking and switch to explosive bolts. If these Necromancers climb up, we'll lose a lot of brothers."
The "explosive bolts" the soldier mentioned were actually special metal bolts. When fired, they would completely split apart. A three-meter-long metal bolt would split into at least a hundred pieces. However, these "split bolts" were expensive to produce and were only used when Necromancers climbed the Wall of the Gods.
*Thump, thump, thump...*
Urgent war drums echoed across the ice wall. Hearing this, all soldiers dove behind the low parapets at the edge of the wall—it was almost instinct.
Dense black dots descended from the sky. Upon closer inspection, these were black spikes about a meter long, covered in spiral patterns, slender and highly penetrating. This was the Necromancer army's ranged weapon, called "Death Spiral," though "Death Spiral" was a phonetic translation. In human language, it was "Black Curtain Rain."
With a cracking sound, ice chips flew as a black spike embedded itself into the ice wall. The flying ice chips struck a soldier's face, and drops of blood seeped from his cheek, showing the power of these black spikes.
"Black Curtain Rain" was a terrifying ranged weapon. Its only weakness was the long time needed to reload. The human soldiers knew this, so they immediately left cover and unleashed a torrent of metal bolts at the Necromancers below.
"Someone fell off the wall!!"
A shout spread across the ice wall. Under normal circumstances, a soldier falling off the wall in this brutal war wasn't a big deal.
But that wasn't the case. Once a soldier fell from the ice wall, nearby soldiers would immediately use their crossbows to shoot him. This was to help a comrade reduce suffering—being captured alive by Necromancers was too horrifying, not something any intelligent being should endure.
A dozen crossbows aimed at the fallen "soldier."
"Battalion Commander!"
Hundreds of soldiers screamed at the edge of the ice wall, indicating that the one who fell was a high-ranking officer.
A young soldier swallowed hard. Unlike the others, he didn't shout because he clearly saw that his officer had jumped off the wall voluntarily.
*Whoosh!*
Blue-white flames erupted from the fallen Battalion Commander. The crossbowmen aiming at him immediately turned away, no longer paying attention to him. That was a Holy Warrior.
With a loud crash, the Battalion Commander landed. The surrounding snow melted in large patches, revealing damp ground. But in the next moment, the moisture in the soil evaporated from the high temperature, and the ground within a hundred meters began to crack.
"I need to raise my rank quickly. The capital should be quite lively."
The "Battalion Commander" scanned his surroundings. The flames on his body forced the nearby Necromancers to retreat.
"Too bad, only I entered this Primordial World this time. None of the others in the group had entry qualifications."
The flames surged. The person in the flames snapped his fingers, and the fire around him expanded in a ring.
The blue-white flame ring swept across the Necromancers' bodies, instantly burning them to ashes. This blue-white flame's temperature was beyond terrifying.
On the ice wall, a Contractor disguised as a soldier observed the situation below. Seeing the hundreds of piles of ash, he swallowed hard. If he had to fight the person below, he wouldn't last a single round.
"As expected of Blood Gate's second-in-command, Huang Fen. Terrifying guy."
The salted fish Contractor withdrew his head, planning to switch war zones. Staying here was too dangerous.
Huang Fen had entered the Shia World. He wasn't here to seek revenge on Su Xiao—his appearance here was purely coincidental.
Su Xiao didn't know Huang Fen was in this world, and Huang Fen likewise didn't know Su Xiao was here. If the two met, it would definitely be a life-or-death struggle.
Blade versus flame. Third Rank Arena Rank 11 versus Third Rank Arena Rank 2. Su Xiao had reached Rank 11 solely because his time in Reincarnation Paradise only allowed him to climb that high, while Huang Fen could only reach Rank 2.
