Chapter 62: Get Out

“Reason…”
Su Xiao looked at Rose with interest. This woman was harder to deal with than he had imagined.

Boom!
A loud explosion rang out as Obito and Sasuke both stepped back. Kisame placed one hand on the hilt of Samehada, while Deidara raised his hand, a bright red tongue extending from the mouth on his palm.

By now, Su Xiao had already vanished from his seat. The stone table was covered in cracks like a spiderweb. He crouched on the table, holding Dragon-Slaying Flash, its blade pressed against Rose’s pale neck.

Rose had already stood up, tilting her head slightly. The stinging sensation on her neck made her jet-black, gem-like eyes gleam.

At this moment, Rose held a short-handled war scythe. The handle was embedded with five gems, and the blade gleamed with a cold light. That sharp edge was also pressed against Su Xiao’s throat.

“Kisame, is this what you call ‘not strong in combat’?”
Su Xiao calmly looked at Rose. The speed she had just unleashed was in no way inferior to his own. Her combat experience, reaction speed, and crisis response were all flawless.

“After all, everyone has their own secrets.”
Kisame smiled, turned, and walked out of the base. At the same time, Rose received a notification: her personal favorability with Kisame had been cleared.

“Here to see me?”
Su Xiao and Rose were no more than fifty centimeters apart. His gaze swept over her from head to toe.

“You guessed right. I’m here to see you.”
Rose was actually cursing inwardly. Earlier, when she realized Su Xiao held a high position within the Akatsuki, she had already planned to retreat temporarily. But who knew Kisame would start reminiscing with her? Thinking about Kisame’s personality, Rose was baffled.

During the day, they reminisced. At night, White Zetsu clones wandered around the base. There was no way for her to leave the underground base unless she burned bridges. She wasn’t afraid of Kisame, but she didn’t know if Su Xiao and the others would return quickly. And tearing apart their relationship over a mere guess was clearly not worth it. Besides, she still had a trump card.

Realizing this relatively disadvantageous situation, Rose didn’t complain. She accepted this outcome willingly. This was the price she had to pay. She wasn’t good at scheming, but she used this method to get close to her enemy.

“Did Stan send you?”
From the speed Rose had shown earlier, Su Xiao could tell she was very strong, perhaps even on par with him. An enemy of this caliber was likely sent by Stan’s side.

“Stan? Oh, ‘Forgiveness Stan’? Of course not. How could that guy have time to get revenge on you? He just got cuckolded and is still fuming.”
Rose smiled, leaning her face closer to Su Xiao. The blade of Dragon-Slaying Flash cut a bloody line on her pale neck.

Rose slowly raised her hand, grabbing the front of Su Xiao’s shirt, almost pressing her face against his. Su Xiao caught a faint fragrance.

“Remember? An adventure group made up entirely of women. The one you slaughtered to the last.”
Rose’s breathing quickened, her neat, small white teeth grinding audibly.

“Adventure group…”
Su Xiao immediately recalled something.

“They should all be dead. It seems one survived.”
Su Xiao already knew Rose’s purpose. It was simple: revenge. But he was a bit puzzled. He had thought he had completely eradicated them.

“No, they’re all dead. Black and White, Queen, Leaf, Cold Moon, Candy, Little Black, Blood Rose—all died by your blade. Why you killed them doesn’t matter. What matters is that I’m still alive.”
Hearing Rose’s words, Su Xiao was even more confused. If all those people were dead, who was this? Some nobody from the former Spider Lily Adventure Group? Unlikely. A violator hiding within Spider Lily? Even more impossible. As long as a violator got close to Su Xiao, the hunting function would activate automatically. Besides, that violator was already dead.

Su Xiao couldn’t figure out where this person had come from.

“Strange, isn’t it? Where did I pop up from? You really did kill them all. I investigated that for a long time. Unfortunately, I don’t have Little Black’s brains, or I’d have come up with a better plan. No wonder she used to call me stupid when she was alive. I beat her up many times for that—made her cry.”
As Rose spoke, tears flowed from her left eye, but her right eye remained clear and focused.

“You. Get out within one minute.”
Rose tilted her head, her gaze sweeping over Obito, Sasuke, and the others.

Obito was a bit surprised. No one had dared to speak to him like that in a long time.

Beep, beep, beep…
An electronic sound came from Rose. The gem on her necklace was flashing red, and a terrifying fluctuation spread out.

“KMTA composite radioactive material. If it’s activated, no living creature will survive within half a kilometer.”
Rose wasn’t a lone hero. She had dared to infiltrate the Akatsuki base because she had a backup plan.

Obito didn’t hesitate to use space-time ninjutsu. Moments later, he vanished. Sasuke limped out of the base.

“White Night, this doesn’t look good.”
Deidara didn’t move. Su Xiao had saved his life once; he couldn’t just leave like this.

“Deidara, this is my personal grudge.”
Su Xiao spoke. Rose wasn’t bluffing. If the thing around her neck really exploded, the power would be terrifying.

“Tch. Don’t die, yeah.”
Deidara turned and walked out of the base. Soon, only Su Xiao, Rose, Bubu Wang, and Amu remained in the underground base.

After Obito and the others left, the necklace around Rose’s neck stopped flashing.

“The Paradise is truly amazing. I was supposed to be… a soft girl? And now I’m this strong.”
As Rose spoke, Bubu Wang tried to approach her from behind.

“Leader of the three sled dogs, give it up. Any creature that enters the Blood Web, I can easily sense.”
Bubu Wang stopped in his tracks. This was the first time someone had detected his presence. He looked around and noticed a network of fine, nearly invisible blood threads spread throughout the entire underground base, affecting his ability to blend into the environment.

“Fight me. Either you wipe me out, or I kill you. This is my obsession.”
Rose slowly stepped back. Both of their weapons were still at each other’s throats, which could easily lead to mutual destruction. Rose decided to solve the problem her own way—simple and brutal. Whoever was stronger deserved to live, rather than imitating her fallen teammates. Although that would bring greater satisfaction in revenge, unfortunately, Su Xiao was not someone to be trifled with.

The distance between them gradually widened. Just then, Su Xiao’s long blade slashed down, and Rose’s short-handled war scythe also swung.

Pfft.
Blood splattered. A shallow wound appeared on Su Xiao’s shoulder, while a cut appeared on Rose’s neck, clearly deeper. Dragon-Slaying Flash was longer than the short-handled war scythe—that was an advantage.
