Chapter 991: Dragon Roars Resound
Other experts also broke through the great hall and rushed out. This demonic core was terrifying, but the more so it was, the greater the greed in their hearts.
"Let's go!" Lin Feng took a step, intending to rush out as well, but Qiongqi shouted, "Stop right there."
Lin Feng's steps froze, and he turned back to look at Qiongqi with confusion.
"Go, my ass! Hurry up and use your Demon Sealing Stele to seal the hall!" Qiongqi quickly growled. At this moment, the water of the Wu River was continuously flowing into the hall, as if it wanted to bury this hall once more beneath the Wu River.
"Hmm?" Lin Feng's expression stiffened. Rumbling sounds continuously echoed out. Some of the sculptures and skeletons within the hall were collapsing, along with the Wu River water, threatening to bury the hall.
What was wrong with this Qiongqi guy, telling him to seal the hall?
"Not chasing?" Lin Feng asked in a low voice.
"Chase my ass! Hurry up and seal the hall. If you chase out, you won't get the demonic core either. Those fools don't understand the nature of the demon dragon at all." Qiongqi cursed under his breath, leaving Lin Feng speechless with his mouth agape. This old bastard was actually calling those people a bunch of fools.
"Something's off." Lin Feng hesitated no longer. He took out the Demon Sealing Stele, and a surge of sealing power bloomed forth, blasting toward the broken areas of the hall. Instantly, a terrifying sealing force spread throughout the entire hall, sealing up all the holes.
In an instant, the Wu River water stopped flowing into the hall. Lin Feng turned his gaze to Qiongqi and said, "What's going on?"
"Those fools. If this demon dragon hadn't deliberately done so, why would it spit out its demonic core to attract their attention?" Qiongqi walked up to the demon dragon's skeleton, but his eyes were fixed on the claw beneath the dragon's abdomen.
"The demon dragon values this abdominal claw the most. If there's anything of utmost importance, it would definitely use this claw to protect it." Qiongqi stared at the abdominal claw that was dug into the ground, his eyes flickering.
"You mean there's something under this claw!" Lin Feng's expression tightened as he stared at Qiongqi.
"See if you can cut off and move this claw." Qiongqi said to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng's gaze locked onto the massive claw. A powerful sword intent emanated from him, sharp and fierce.
"Break!" With a furious shout, Lin Feng's hand transformed into a sword blade, slashing toward the enormous claw. A loud crash rang out, and the claw's arm snapped, but the claw itself remained tightly gripping the ground.
"This demon dragon's skeleton has been corroded. The desolate aura here must have been terrifying before, but it's much weaker now. Otherwise, it wouldn't be cuttable." Qiongqi continued. Lin Feng tried to move the claw that was gripping the ground with his hand, but found he couldn't budge it at all. The massive claw held the ground tightly, as if guarding something.
"It's not hard enough. Smash it to pieces." Qiongqi growled at Lin Feng. Lin Feng nodded, his hand turning into a sword blade again as he continuously slashed at the claw. The claw shattered inch by inch, breaking apart and gradually disintegrating into nothingness.
The claw had been gripping the ground, but there was nothing on the surface—only a claw print left behind. Lin Feng frowned slightly and turned back to look at Qiongqi.
Qiongqi stepped forward, his eerie eyes fixed on the ground without moving. Then he crouched down and began tracing patterns on the ground with his hand, as if drawing a design—a dragon-shaped pattern.
To Lin Feng's astonishment, after the pattern appeared, streaks and trajectories emerged on the ground, interweaving into special lines that seemed to be dragon patterns.
"It really is dragon language art. There's something hidden underneath." Qiongqi's eerie eyes gleamed with sharpness. The demon dragon had used dragon language art to conceal the demon patterns it had carved. Fortunately, he was proficient in some techniques to break the dragon language art. He was now certain that something must be hidden below. The demon dragon had used its abdominal claw to cover it, lured people away with its own demonic core, and hidden the demon patterns beneath with dragon language art. If there wasn't something hidden down there, it was impossible.
Moreover, whatever was below, the demon dragon valued it more than its own demonic core, willing to use the core to distract people.
"Can you break it?" Lin Feng asked Qiongqi.
"If you could break it, this demon dragon would have lived in vain." Qiongqi shot Lin Feng a contemptuous look and said, "The demon patterns here are carved and should connect to the entire dragon palace. I need time. I hope those fools don't discover this, or else we'll be making a wedding dress for them."
As he spoke, Qiongqi had already started working, preparing to unravel the demon patterns.
Lin Feng's heart was tense now. He could only silently pray that those people wouldn't discover this; otherwise, as Qiongqi said, they'd be working for others.
But those people had gone to fight over the demon dragon's core. It shouldn't be that easy to get their hands on it. They still had some time.
This time, Qiongqi was truly giving it his all. His movements were extremely fast, continuously tracing something on the ground. Sure enough, Lin Feng noticed that as Qiongqi's hand moved, lines crisscrossed across the entire hall floor. The whole hall was now covered in terrifying patterns, sealing whatever was below inside.
"What exactly is hidden down there, making this demon dragon go to such great lengths?" Lin Feng's eyes flickered. The demonic core had shot through the air, the entire hall seemed about to collapse, and the Wu River water was flowing in to bury the hall. All these measures the demon dragon had set up were to ensure that the demon patterns it carved would never appear before others. What was it guarding?
"Rumble!" The hall began to tremble. Dazzling lights appeared on the ground, seeming to contain a terrifying demonic power.
The demon dragon had used destructive means to attract others, but used concealment to hide these things. It had almost fooled everyone, but unfortunately, it ran into Qiongqi, this old fellow.
The trembling of the hall grew more intense, and with Qiongqi's actions, a terrifying radiance burst forth from the entire hall. The demon patterns interwove, as if about to be broken.
"Boom!" The entire hall began to collapse. Even the Demon Sealing Stele couldn't hold it back. This dragon palace was about to cave in.
"Roar..." A furious roar rolled out, nearly knocking Lin Feng flat. The sound came from the massive demon dragon skeleton beside him.
"Crack, crack!" Crisp splitting sounds rang out. After that roar, the demon dragon's enormous skeleton slowly shattered, pieces falling to the ground.
"It's breaking apart. Even the demon dragon's skeleton is shattering." Lin Feng's expression stiffened. That final roar seemed to carry a hint of unwillingness. He hadn't expected that Qiongqi opening the demon patterns would cause such a commotion. It seemed it was almost done.
"Old fellow, we don't have much time. Hurry up." Lin Feng said anxiously. The dragon palace was collapsing now, which would definitely attract the attention of those outside.
"It's done." Qiongqi said in a low voice. His long red hair fluttered in the wind. A loud crash rang out as the hall's floor split open again. The interwoven patterns seemed to be cracking apart on both sides.
"There really is another world down here." Lin Feng's gaze froze, his eyes fixed on the splitting hall. Rumbling sounds continued endlessly. The collapsing hall kept crashing down around him. Soon, this palace would be buried.
"Roar..."
A clear dragon roar rolled out, making Lin Feng's whole body stiffen, trembling uncontrollably.
"Dragon roars in the dead of night!"
Lin Feng felt his blood boiling, even more intensely than when he was on the Wu River. It felt like all his blood was about to burst out of his body. This sensation was too strong.
This was the true dragon roar in the dead of night. That earlier roar had been a destructive, furious sound.
Where Lin Feng stood, where the demon dragon's claw had gripped the ground, a dazzling blood-red light shot up from the cracked earth. Dragon roars resounded, no longer just one roar, but continuous, unending.
Lin Feng's blood churned without cease, unable to calm. His body trembled uncontrollably because of this. This feeling was too intense. The power of his bloodline seemed to be awakened, stirred to life.
And his eyes were fixed unwaveringly on the space cracking open below.
"Not good, kid. Get down there quickly!" Qiongqi roared, grabbing Lin Feng and jumping down. At this moment, dragon roars echoed continuously. Those people would surely be alerted and come over!
