# Chapter 572: Little Sister
Listening to the wind brushing past his ears, Lin Feng seemed to feel the girl's sorrow. Her brother, only the same age as him, so young, possessing good talent. Every day he would see the girl, pinch her cheeks, and wear a brilliant smile.
What a peaceful and beautiful scene. But the girl's brother, a youth just like him, had suddenly died. How could the old man and the girl not be sorrowful?
Yet the girl's smile remained so pure, so clean.
"After my brother left, Grandpa took me to every corner, traveling through the deep mountains. Every time we saw green, we would stop and rest for a while. This time we came to Heavenly Dragon City, and seeing this mountain range, we stopped here too, living here for some time."
The girl spoke again. The old man had brought her, it seemed, searching for green, searching for the color of life.
"So big brother, you are as young as my brother, as talented. And, you are still alive. What could make you unhappy, what could you not let go of?"
The girl turned her gaze to Lin Feng's slightly cold eyes. Seeing that clean, sunny smile, Lin Feng actually felt a trace of shame. He was still alive and well. His cultivation would recover sooner or later. He had people he loved—parents and women waiting for him. What right did he have to be so cold?
"Whoosh..."
Letting out a long breath, Lin Feng lifted his feet and slowly walked forward, toward the distant expanse of emerald green.
The girl also lifted her foot, as if wanting to follow.
"Xiao Ya." The old man called out, making the girl pause mid-step. She turned back to look at the old man, who nodded gently at her and said, "Let him go alone."
The girl glanced at Lin Feng, then nodded lightly and did not follow.
Lin Feng walked slowly by himself, crossing the slope, heading toward that patch of emerald green.
His steps were still slow, but his heart was calm. Step by step, he climbed to the high point of the mountain peak, arriving at the top of the slope.
Before his eyes was a cliff, and an endless expanse of emerald green.
Pausing to gaze for a moment, Lin Feng slowly sat down. Then, he lay down, looking at the blue sky and white clouds, surrounded by green, his heart wandering between heaven and earth.
Closing his eyes, Lin Feng breathed with his heart, breathing in the breath of life.
He lay there for an entire day. The old man and the girl did not disturb him, as if they had already forgotten him.
Lin Feng still lay there, but he himself could not remember how many times his body had rolled over. He never deliberately obstructed this natural rolling. Lin Feng's breathing became incredibly steady, unlike anything he had ever experienced.
Ever since coming to this other world, his heart had always been tense. His breathing had always seemed hurried, urgent. Never had he breathed so naturally and smoothly as now.
"Time to eat!"
Just then, a shout came, and Lin Feng heard the sound of light running footsteps.
His body rolled over, and Lin Feng lay propped up, seeing the girl running over from not far away. She was carrying a bowl of food and sat down directly in front of him.
"You haven't eaten all day. Are you hungry? Look at the good food I made for you."
The girl opened the food container, and a fragrant aroma wafted over, making Lin Feng involuntarily take a deep breath.
"This is wild rhinoceros roast meat. It's best for filling the body." The girl said as she handed the bowl to Lin Feng, the shallow smile at the corners of her mouth still brilliant.
Lin Feng's body jumped up, sitting there, seeming a bit eager.
"Here, take it." Xiao Ya handed the food container to Lin Feng. Looking up, she saw the brilliant, sunny smile on Lin Feng's face, making her expression freeze slightly.
At this moment, Lin Feng's eyes held no coldness, no ruthlessness, no domineering sharpness. Only that wisp of vibrant, lively smile. His clean eyes had no other color besides greed for the food.
"Bro... brother."
Xiao Ya murmured softly, a dreamlike sound escaping her small lips, making Lin Feng pause.
But then Lin Feng smiled again. He placed his hand on the girl's head and rubbed it vigorously, messing up her hair.
"Let me go!"
Xiao Ya glared at Lin Feng with feigned anger. Time seemed to reverse. How familiar this scene was. In her feigned anger was the full liveliness of a little sister being teased by her brother.
"If I really had such a little sister, I would surely be very happy."
Lin Feng thought to himself. He took out the roast meat from the container and directly tore it into two pieces, handing one piece to Xiao Ya.
"We'll each have half."
"Mm, each half."
Xiao Ya unceremoniously took the roast meat Lin Feng handed her and began wolfing it down, without any ladylike demeanor, making Lin Feng continuously shake his head and smile. Of course, he himself was also gnawing away without regard for appearances.
After they were full, both of them lay back, looking very satisfied.
"My stomach is so stuffed." Xiao Ya turned her head to look at Lin Feng, pouting her greasy little lips, looking especially cute.
Lin Feng also turned his head and gave the girl a gentle smile.
Only then did the girl realize that Lin Feng's smile was really just as nice as her brother's smile—so clean, so sunny.
"Can I always call you big brother?" the girl asked innocently.
Lin Feng was stunned for a moment, then a hint of a smile curled at the corners of his mouth. "I've always wanted a little sister."
"It's a deal." Xiao Ya extended her finger. Lin Feng also extended his finger and hooked it with hers. "It's a deal."
"Hehe, I have a big brother again!" Xiao Ya spread her arms and shouted at the sky, then asked Lin Feng, "Brother, I still don't know your name."
"Lin Feng."
"Lin Feng!" Xiao Ya murmured, then smiled. "Grandpa will be very happy to know I have a big brother again."
"What if your grandpa blames me for tricking you?" Lin Feng laughed.
"He won't. You don't understand Grandpa. He looks cold on the outside, but his heart is kinder than anyone. Otherwise, he couldn't have become such a skilled pharmacist." Xiao Ya giggled.
Lin Feng nodded slightly. A pharmacist heals the wounded and saves lives, aiming to rescue people. If one's heart is not good, this path cannot go far, and one cannot achieve profound accomplishments.
If it were for achievement, becoming an alchemist would be far more respected and sought after than a pharmacist.
Of course, Lin Feng was just speaking casually. Since the old man knew about his physical condition and still chose to save him, it showed the old man's kind heart.
"Come on, let's go back and see Grandpa."
The girl pulled Lin Feng up from the ground and then ran toward the small hut. Lin Feng had also recovered a lot and had no problem running at all.
The old man was still organizing his herbs. Seeing the girl and Lin Feng running over together, he was startled. Especially Lin Feng, whose face now carried a clean smile. The old man's cloudy eyes seemed to pierce through Lin Feng's eyes. He could see that Lin Feng's smile was truly clean and sincere, not deliberately concealed. This made a trace of surprise flash in the old man's eyes.
"Such strong adaptability. Very impressive comprehension."
The old man murmured to himself. He had only casually guided Lin Feng, but he hadn't expected Lin Feng to so quickly emerge from that demonic coldness, recover himself, and even break through himself. It was truly rare.
Lin Feng and the girl walked to the old man's side. Lin Feng bowed slightly to the old man, his eyes filled with sincere gratitude.
"Grandpa, I have a big brother again now."
The girl said, making the old man pause. Then his gaze fell on Lin Feng again.
Lowering his head, the old man continued organizing the herbs. There was a moment of silence. He didn't say anything, only nodded faintly.
"What's wrong, Grandpa? Aren't you happy?"
Xiao Ya asked the old man. But the old man slowly raised his head, a hint of a smile appearing in his weathered eyes as he looked at Lin Feng. "Originally, I wasn't going to save you. You know your own internal condition well enough. But Xiao Ya said you looked like my deceased grandson, her brother. She insisted on dragging me to save you, so I brought you back. But what would happen after you woke up, I didn't know either. Now it seems I was overthinking. I hope you can stay like this. In the future, never again use power that doesn't belong to you, unless one day you can suppress it."
"I understand."
Lin Feng nodded and bowed to the old man again.
"Alright, go on. Don't bother this old man." The old man waved his hand and lowered his head again to organize his herbs.
