Chapter 2336: Great Desolate Demon Halberd
His gaze fixed on the blood-colored ancient demon cave floating in the void, Lin Feng said softly, "Since I chose to enter, I will walk forward without looking back."
As he spoke, he stepped forward and walked in that direction. Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the blood-colored demon cave and stepped inside.
A blood-red sky shrouded this ruined space. As Lin Feng entered the demon cave, he found that it seemed to be another world—a world of ruins, with broken walls and collapsed pillars everywhere. In fact, as far as the eye could see, corpses lay strewn across the ground. In the sky above hung what appeared to be a crescent moon, a blood-red crescent that seemed especially cold and desolate.
A gust of yin wind brushed against their faces, causing Ye Zhiyun to shiver involuntarily as she uttered, "So cold."
This coldness was not a matter of temperature but a bone-piercing, chilling cold. The Ancient Demon Cave truly lived up to its name; they felt as if they had truly entered an ancient demon lair.
"Is this the core of the Ancient Demon Cave, one of the seven forbidden lands—the true demon cave?" Chi Lianshan murmured. In his hand, a weapon appeared, releasing a terrifying radiance. Traces of sacred might emanated from it, extremely formidable.
"Sacred King Weapon!" Lin Feng's expression tightened. The weapon in Chi Lianshan's hand was likely a genuine Sacred King Weapon, and he had already taken it out in advance. Fatty and Ye Zhiyun also brought out their life-saving weapons, all Sacred King Weapons, while Lin Feng summoned the Myriad Transformations Divine Cauldron. None of them dared to be the slightest bit careless.
Just then, a dazzling golden light illuminated the blood-red sky in the distance, as if terrifying energy was spreading from that direction. Lin Feng's expression stiffened. "Someone is fighting over there!"
With a flicker of movement, Lin Feng and the others headed toward that location. Soon, they saw two powerful figures wielding Sacred King Weapons battling a corpse-man. The corpse-man had only half a body, his eyes closed, exuding no aura at all—as if he were dead. Yet he could resist the attacks of Sacred King Weapons with his bare hands.
"What terrifying physical bodies. Even in death, they are this formidable."
"Saints inherently possess sacred bodies. For a minor accomplishment Saint King, the toughness of their sacred body is probably comparable to a low-grade Sacred King Weapon," Chi Lianshan said, causing Lin Feng's expression to tighten. Saints were too terrifying; their sacred bodies were indestructible. But this saint was clearly dead—how could he revive and fight?
"Borrowing a corpse to return to life. It's not a living being at all. Let me handle it!" Ye Zhiyun stepped forward. An incredibly intense life light surged from her body. Then, with both hands pointing forward, endless life radiance struck the half-corpse. In an instant, a trace of power seemed to drain from the corpse, and it collapsed limply to the ground, as if it were just a dead body.
The two fighters looked up at Ye Zhiyun. "Life light can suppress corpse energy. Thank you."
"This place is too eerie," said the other person, who was Situ Ba. He let out a frustrated voice. "I think we should travel together. We can look out for each other."
Ye Zhiyun turned back to Lin Feng and the others. "Now that we've entered the core of the Ancient Demon Cave, it's better to have more people."
Lin Feng nodded slightly at Ye Zhiyun's words. "Alright, let's go together."
Chi Lianshan and Fatty had no objections either.
"How long have you been in here?" Ye Zhiyun asked Situ Ba and the other person.
"Not long. We just found a treasure site earlier, and then this corpse-man chased us," replied the other person, who radiated golden light. He was a formidable figure from the Void Divine Temple, holding a golden artifact that had shrunk in size—likely another valuable treasure.
"Treasure site?" Ye Zhiyun was startled. "Where?"
"I'll take you to see it. There seems to be a heavy treasure inside, though I don't know how dangerous it is," the man said again. Then he led Lin Feng and the others forward. Soon, they arrived at an altar. On the altar, a cold-light great blade stood, thrust into the altar. Beneath the blade lay a corpse that had not decayed for countless years, its face still discernible.
"Probably another sacred body. This blade can pierce a sacred body and pin it here—its power is unquestionable," Situ Ba said. "I wonder if it can be controlled."
Chi Lianshan stepped forward, seemingly tempted, but Lin Feng reached out and stopped him, glancing at him. "Have you forgotten what happened in the canyon?"
"It can't be that unlucky," Chi Lianshan said.
"Didn't you notice that Situ Ba and the other person haven't made a move to take the blade?" Lin Feng transmitted his voice. Chi Lianshan's expression darkened. "Situ Ba wants to set us up, using us to test the blade?"
"I'm just saying it's possible. Let's go," Lin Feng continued to transmit. Then he exchanged glances with Fatty and Ye Zhiyun, and they flickered away. Situ Ba and the other person were stunned, watching Lin Feng and the others leave, their eyes narrowing. These guys were incredibly alert. If Lin Feng and the others hadn't witnessed a powerful figure being instantly killed in the valley earlier, they might have actually gone for the blade. But now, they had to be extremely cautious.
Lin Feng and the others continued forward aimlessly. Soon, they encountered a demon-man. This demon-man was different from those outside—he had only one eye missing, but the remaining eye was extremely sharp. As it swept over Lin Feng and the others, they all tensed up.
"Whoosh!" Lin Feng and the others felt a gust of wind, and the demon-man appeared right in front of them. Before they could even move, the demon-man reached out a hand toward Chi Lianshan.
"Retreat!" Lin Feng roared. A terrifying Dominating Sword shot directly toward the demon-man's other eye. But the demon-man raised his hand, caught the Dominating Sword energy in his palm, and with a slight tremor, the sword flew off into the distance, accompanied by a rumbling sound.
The demon-man's eye turned to Lin Feng. Meanwhile, Lin Feng and the other three were frantically retreating.
"You saved me again," Chi Lianshan said, sweat beading on his bare skin.
"Saved? Let's talk about that when we get out alive," Lin Feng said as the demon-man began to focus on him. With a single step, the demon-man closed the distance instantly. His hand twisted in the void, and it seemed like a blood-sea reincarnation was forming, about to pull Lin Feng in.
"Great Void Art!" Lin Feng's mind trembled. His entire being seemed to vanish into the void. The space around him turned into blood mist but did not harm him. However, the demon-man continued forward, hands behind his back, making Lin Feng's expression turn ice-cold. The demon-man's eyes were sharp and emotionless, as if he possessed his own thoughts.
"Get the hell away!" Chi Lianshan charged forward. The Sacred King Weapon in his hand struck out, causing heaven and earth to collapse. An immense force slammed into the demon-man, while invisible, terrifying ripples seemed to shatter the void itself. The power the demon-man endured was immense, but he simply slapped out with his palm and continued walking forward.
"I only need one person's memories. Who will give them to me?" the demon-man suddenly spoke, startling Chi Lianshan and the others. He wanted someone's memories.
"If I give them to you, will I become an idiot?" Chi Lianshan asked.
"Considering your bond, I won't strip the memories—just look at them," the demon-man said calmly. Chi Lianshan's expression darkened. "Fine, I trust you. Take my memories."
With that, Chi Lianshan stepped forward and stood before the demon-man.
The demon-man reached out and placed his hand on Chi Lianshan's head. In an instant, a terrifying radiance wrapped around Chi Lianshan's head. After a moment, the demon-man withdrew his hand, but his gaze turned to the blood moon hanging in the sky.
"So many more years have passed," the demon-man murmured. Then he walked away. Lin Feng and the others breathed a sigh of relief. That had been close. This person clearly had his own consciousness—he wasn't a pure demon-man.
"You're really bold," a voice suddenly came. Lin Feng and the others turned around, their expressions tightening.
"Senior," Ye Zhiyun called out. The person who appeared was the High Priest of the Heavenly Sound Divine Temple. "Ye Zhiyun of the Fate Temple asks the senior: how can we get out?"
"Get out?" The High Priest of the Heavenly Sound Divine Temple was startled. He looked up and said, "I don't even know how long I've been in here myself, but I've never been able to leave."
"Then how did the senior lose his memories?" Ye Zhiyun asked.
"If I knew that, it wouldn't be called losing memories," the High Priest replied. "Perhaps it was like what that demon-man just did to you—some memories were stripped away."
"Then what is this place?" Ye Zhiyun asked again.
"This place?" The High Priest's gaze turned toward a distant direction. "There are some places ahead I've never been to. I've heard this is the demon king's bedchamber, and the demons here are all ancient powerhouses."
"So terrifying!" Lin Feng and the others' hearts pounded violently. The demon king's bedchamber?
"Shriek!" A terrifying beam of light pierced directly into the void. With a boom, Lin Feng looked up and saw a beam of light shooting into the blood-red crescent moon. In an instant, the crescent moon shattered, exploding into pieces.
"Great Desolate Demon Halberd! Who moved the seal!" The High Priest's pupils contracted. Then he stepped forward and vanished in an instant. Lin Feng and the others watched his disappearing figure, their expressions darkening. Great Desolate Demon Halberd? Seal?
