Chapter 112: Who Slaps Whom
"Hmph, why waste so many words? Let the two of them fight, and we'll see who's stronger."
Voices rang out again from among the noble scions. Some of them recognized Zuoqiu, the most talented junior of the Zuo family, a Second Layer of Spirit Martial Realm cultivator. At his age, this was extremely rare. Lin Feng was only sixteen or seventeen, so there was no way he could have reached such a realm.
"Hmph, you want him to fight someone with a letter of recommendation? Is that fair? If you have the guts, pick someone from among us."
The people on the opposite side weren't fools. They could see the other party was emboldened and didn't think highly of Lin Feng.
"If you don't dare, just say so. No need to make so many excuses. Zuoqiu, slap that guy a few times, so those people know that nobles aren't comparable to lowlifes like them."
That voice spoke up again. This time, Lin Feng's gaze immediately turned, locking onto the speaker. It was a young man in a yellow shirt, around seventeen or eighteen, with an arrogant look on his face.
"Don't worry, Bai Ze. Even if you hadn't said it, I was going to slap him a few times to teach him the consequences of having a loose mouth," Zuoqiu said with a cold laugh.
"Heh, good. Don't disgrace the Zuo family's face," Bai Ze said with a sinister smile. Zuoqiu's strength was no weaker than the old students of Heavenly One Academy. Dealing with a lowlife who didn't even have a letter of recommendation would be a piece of cake.
"Disgrace the Zuo family? Is that possible?" A hint of disdain flashed in Zuoqiu's eyes. He looked at Lin Feng, raised his head high, and said coldly, "If you're willing to slap yourself, I won't bother to make a move."
"No matter where I go, there are always some idiots," Lin Feng muttered. He glanced casually at Duan Yu beside him. Duan Yu didn't bother to warn Zuoqiu either; she just stood there quietly, watching everything unfold.
Perhaps news that he had been slapped by Lin Feng would soon spread, which would undoubtedly embarrass her. If she let Lin Feng show off his strength in front of everyone now, at least she wouldn't look too bad. Otherwise, people would think that Duan Yu had been slapped by just anyone.
"Idiots?" The crowd found Lin Feng's words amusing, and the noble scions started stirring things up.
"Zuoqiu, the lowlife you mentioned is calling you an idiot."
"Heh, Zuoqiu, looks like you can't intimidate him."
The voices fell on Zuoqiu's ears, grating and harsh. His expression grew even colder.
"I'll not only slap you, but I'll slap them too, to make the lesson more profound," Zuoqiu said, sweeping his gaze over Mengqing, Jingyun, and the others behind Lin Feng. His words made Lin Feng's face turn cold, a chill rising in his heart. He didn't want to provoke others, but others insisted on provoking him.
"Are you done farting?" Lin Feng's voice was icy, making Zuoqiu's face stiffen. Anger surged within him.
With a tremor of his body, Zuoqiu moved forward. His hand rose, then fell sharply, carrying a fierce and cold gust of wind.
If that slap landed, it would be enough to send someone flying.
A faint, cold smile curled at the corner of Lin Feng's mouth. He raised his hand, lightning-fast, and blocked Zuoqiu's arm, stopping his palm mid-air.
"Hmm?" Zuoqiu's gaze sharpened. This guy had incredible strength, actually able to block his arm.
"Do you think a bit of brute force is enough?" Zuoqiu said coldly. A burst of flame erupted from his body, scorching hot. He opened his mouth and spat out a fierce blast of fire, directly aimed at Lin Feng.
"What a strange martial skill."
The crowd's eyes narrowed, thinking Lin Feng was in for trouble.
But at that moment, Lin Feng's other hand shot out. Countless palm prints, carrying a fierce momentum, swallowed the flames and surged toward Zuoqiu.
Zuoqiu's expression froze. He stomped his foot on the ground, pulling his arm away from Lin Feng, and raised both hands. A fiery dragon formed in his palms, blocking the incoming palm prints.
The blazing heat churned wildly. Zuoqiu's eyes were icy cold; he had underestimated Lin Feng.
Just then, behind the series of palm prints, a larger hand suddenly emerged, expanding in Zuoqiu's pupils.
"Retreat!" Zuoqiu's mind tensed, but it was too late.
"Slap!"
A crisp, loud sound rang out, leaving everyone stunned, including Zuoqiu.
Zuoqiu, who had wanted to slap Lin Feng, was instead slapped by Lin Feng?
Lin Feng's force wasn't great; Zuoqiu still stood steadily. But what hurt more was his dignity, completely shattered by that slap.
"You dare hit me?" Zuoqiu seemed not to have grasped what happened. He touched his face, bloodshot eyes wide.
"I didn't fight back when you called me a lowlife. Not because I didn't dare, but because I couldn't be bothered," Lin Feng said, ignoring Zuoqiu's idiotic question. Didn't dare hit him? What a joke.
"But you kept testing my patience, shoving your face in front of me to be slapped. If I still didn't slap you, it wouldn't be because I couldn't be bothered, but because people would think I didn't dare. So, get lost."
As Lin Feng finished speaking, his hand swung out again. This time, the force was nothing like before. With one slap, he sent Zuoqiu flying.
The sound of Zuoqiu hitting the ground made everyone's hearts tremble. That slap was ruthless.
Lin Feng's gaze shifted to Zhong Ling, making her heart skip a beat as she stepped back.
"As for you, I also can't be bothered," Lin Feng said with a faint, mocking smile, causing Zhong Ling's pupils to contract. Her face was extremely ugly. This was naked humiliation.
"I'll kill you!" Zuoqiu roared, scrambling to his feet. "Howling Moon!"
As his voice fell, the Howling Moon Wolf lunged fiercely at Lin Feng, incredibly fast. Its sharp claws slashed through the air, sending a white light streaking toward Lin Feng.
"Beast," Lin Feng said coldly. A brilliant flash of light flickered, and then the crowd saw the Howling Moon Wolf fall from the air, lying prostrate. Moments later, it was lifeless.
"It was a sword. That light was a sword strike."
The crowd was shocked. Such a fast sword. One strike, and it killed the Spirit Beast Howling Moon Wolf.
"You..." Zuoqiu's eyes were sinister, twisted and terrifying.
"If you don't want to be silenced forever, you'd better not let me hear you speak again," Lin Feng threatened coldly. Sure enough, Zuoqiu immediately shut his mouth. Though his gaze was dark and gloomy, he didn't dare say another word.
"Heh, so this is their pride. Truly worthy of noble scions. When it comes down to it, they're just weaklings who can't handle the storm, useless trash."
A sharp, mocking voice rang out, making the noble scions' faces all ugly. Earlier, they had been shouting for Zuoqiu to teach Lin Feng a lesson, to slap him and humiliate the lowlifes. But instead, Zuoqiu hadn't slapped Lin Feng; he had been slapped twice himself.
And those two slaps felt like they had landed on them too.
"Zuoqiu, you really brought honor to the Zuo family," Bai Ze said coldly, making Zuoqiu's expression freeze. He was so angry he almost spat blood. That bastard was kicking him while he was down.
But remembering the power behind the Bai family, Zuoqiu could only suppress his anger.
Just then, Lin Feng's eyes landed squarely on Bai Ze, making Bai Ze's pupils contract slightly.
"Was it you who told him to slap me?" Lin Feng asked Bai Ze calmly, making the crowd fall silent again.
Was Lin Feng going to provoke Bai Ze too?
Seeing Bai Ze staring at him without speaking, Lin Feng's lips curled into a cold smile.
"You told him to slap me. Now that he can't do it, shouldn't you step up yourself? Let everyone see how impressive your so-called nobles really are?"
Lin Feng's provocative words echoed in the crowd's ears, and the common martial artists without backgrounds all laughed.
"Bai Ze, you were humiliating others earlier, and now they're calling you out. What are you hiding for?"
"Bai Ze, you said nobles aren't comparable to lowlifes. How about proving your words? Or do nobles have nothing but a loose tongue?"
The harsh voices rang out one after another. Even the noble scions' gazes fell on Bai Ze. Faced with Lin Feng's provocation, would he accept the challenge?
