# Chapter 626: What to Do When You're Too Unlucky?
As for Tanaka, this fake executive of Tesoro's, the group didn't bother to comment. However, they looked at Ian with some curiosity.
Because they had noticed a detail that could easily have been overlooked: when Ian's electric current had blasted Tanaka out from the floor earlier, the electricity that appeared in the air was actually black!
Black electric current wasn't something they had never seen before. Especially Aokiji—he and Kizaru had witnessed that final thunderbolt on Sabaody Archipelago, which was the first time Ian had displayed black lightning.
Everyone understood that the black lightning Ian produced was far more powerful than his normal electricity. However, this kind of black lightning usually required Ian to charge up in advance before he could unleash it.
But this time, they hadn't seen Ian charge at all. He had simply placed his hand on the golden conductor as usual, yet the current that appeared was black! That was what puzzled them.
What was going on?
Even Aokiji and the members of the Dragon Hunter Pirates felt something was off. They began to speculate among themselves whether Ian's ability had evolved again. After all, everyone knew that Ian had been holed up in the hotel for the past two days, tinkering with something...
Only Perospero and Katakuri, who didn't know much about Ian's abilities, failed to notice this. After Ian casually dealt with Tanaka, they felt a bit more balanced—at least Ian had finally made a move.
"Let's go!" Katakuri said. "Since Tesoro's executive has appeared, it means he'll be arriving here soon."
Everyone nodded and was about to set off when, at that moment, a seductive voice came from behind them: "Everyone, the rooftop is off-limits for tours! You can't go any further!"
Turning around, they saw Baccarat walking toward them from the corridor behind, hands on her hips.
"Ian-sama, you're so heartless!" Baccarat said with a resentful tone as she walked. "When I was your guide, you ignored me completely. And now you're trying to steal the boss's treasury? Do you know this will get me in trouble?"
"Heh!" Ian chuckled, leaning against the wall. "You're Tesoro's trusted subordinate. How could he blame you?"
Baccarat sighed. "There's no helping it. The boss is a very strict person!"
As she spoke, Baccarat had already reached the back of the group. The Dragon Hunter Pirates' sailors behind her hesitated for a moment, then moved aside to let her pass.
But just then, Carina suddenly shouted loudly: "Careful! Don't let her get close! She's a Luck-Luck Fruit user! Don't let her touch your bodies!"
Hearing Carina's warning, although everyone didn't understand what the Luck-Luck Fruit's ability was, they all warily stepped back, drawing their weapons to guard against Baccarat.
Baccarat also stopped in her tracks and said to Carina: "So it's you, Carina! When Tesoro-sama brought you back, I knew you were trouble. Now you've betrayed us after all!"
"Hmph!" Carina turned her head away. "What do you mean 'betrayed'? I was never one of your people, okay? Tesoro used me to make money for him, and I used him to make money for myself. What's wrong with that?"
"Say whatever you want!" Baccarat snorted coldly. "When Tesoro-sama arrives, we'll see how you explain yourself to him!"
"Hehe!" Carina smiled smugly, linking her arm with Ian's. "Want to punish me? He'll have to get past the handsome Ian-sama first!"
Ian looked at Carina speechlessly. "Flattering me won't help."
Carina beamed, winking slyly at Ian. "I'm a woman. I have to survive using my wits. So even if you know I'm flattering you, can't you just pretend to be pleased?"
Ian smiled and stopped paying attention to Carina. He said to Baccarat: "Miss Baccarat, are you here to stop us as well?"
"Of course!" Baccarat thrust out her chest and laughed. "I may not have much combat strength, but I can stop you in another way!"
With that, she suddenly flicked a golden chip coin toward the ground!
The golden chip coin hit the floor, bounced a few times, and then hopped toward where Dorry and the other Dragon Hunter Pirates were standing.
As everyone watched in confusion, the coin bounced a few times, spun around on the ground a couple of times, and then toppled over.
The next second, a crack suddenly appeared in the floor where the coin had landed. The crack rapidly expanded, in the blink of an eye encompassing the area where Dorry and a dozen others were standing.
"Watch out!" Ian's heart tightened. He realized at that moment that Baccarat hadn't come here to absorb their luck—she had already prepared in advance!
It was probably because of Tesoro's subordinates who had been defeated downstairs. Baccarat had likely already absorbed all their luck!
With a loud crash! Just as Ian's voice fell, the floor beneath Dorry and the others suddenly collapsed! A hole opened up, and a dozen Dragon Hunter Pirates sailors cried out in surprise as they fell from this floor down below.
"Th-this... what's going on!?" Everyone watched in bewilderment, rushing to the hole to look down. Below, Dorry and the others who had fallen were battered and covered in dust. Although they were all physically strong, the sudden fall from such a height still left them slightly injured.
Only Ian understood that the coin Baccarat had flicked carried intense luck, which had caused an extremely low-probability event to occur.
The corridor had been bombed many times earlier by Tesoro's subordinates. Since the internal structure was made of sturdy gold, it hadn't collapsed, but the explosions might have created some small cracks.
When Baccarat's coin landed, it caused a tiny vibration. However, that tiny vibration changed the stress distribution on those hidden cracks, causing them to suddenly expand and collapse, dropping Dorry and the others through.
It sounded utterly absurd, but Ian knew that Baccarat's Luck-Luck Fruit was just that mysterious!
It was as if she could rely on that intense luck to amplify events that would normally have an extremely low probability of occurring, making them happen in her favor...
To be honest, Ian couldn't explain the principle behind the Luck-Luck Fruit's ability either. Paramecia-type Devil Fruits often produced these bizarre, bug-like abilities. For example, Sugar's Hobby-Hobby Fruit ability in his own crew, or Ain's Retro-Retro Fruit ability in Zephyr's Pirate Hunter Squad—these were all seemingly unsolvable Devil Fruit abilities.
After Dorry and the others fell, the person closest to Baccarat was Tashigi! Since they were enemies, Tashigi didn't hesitate. She immediately gripped her sword and slashed at Baccarat.
However, as soon as she started moving, she had only taken two steps and raised her sword when she suddenly stepped on a round bullet on the floor...
Tashigi's entire body pitched forward, and she fell flat on her face. The sound of her fall was so loud that Ian's eyelids twitched. He thought her chest might have been flattened...
Smoker saw Tashigi fall for no apparent reason and found the whole situation incredibly bizarre. But he refused to believe it was anything supernatural, so he made his move. His arm turned into smoke and shot forward, the Seastone-tipped trident in his hand aimed straight at Baccarat's abdomen to subdue her.
But Baccarat stood still without moving. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew up from the hole where Dorry and the others had fallen. The powerful airflow happened to hit Smoker's arm, which had turned into smoke!
In his elemental form, Smoker's arm was blown and twisted by the airflow. Then, something even stranger happened. The twisted arm carried Smoker's trident in a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn, and the tip of the trident ended up hitting Smoker's own smoke arm!
In other words, Smoker's Seastone trident had struck himself! A scene that would be rare even once in a decade had actually happened!
"H-h-how... is this possible!?" Smoker's entire body went weak and powerless. He could no longer hold his weapon, and it clattered to the ground.
Fortunately, his contact with the Seastone trident was only momentary. The moment the weapon left his hand, his strength returned. He quickly took a step forward, trying to steady himself.
But then, something even more bizarre happened. As his foot came down, he happened to step on a banana peel that had appeared from who knows where. With a "splat," Smoker also fell!
And when he fell, it was even worse than Tashigi. He slid forward, and his head ended up right against the tip of the Seastone trident lying on the floor...
Now he didn't even have the strength to get up!
Seeing Smoker, this unlucky bastard, get taken down by his own trident, Ian's eyes nearly popped out of his head: Could this be any more ridiculous!?
Damn it, how do you even deal with this!?
