Chapter 459: Trying to Show Off but Getting Beaten Instead
Enel was very confident in his own power. During the six years he had ruled Skypiea, he had seen many people come from the Blue Sea to the sky island, including some Devil Fruit users, but not a single one had ever managed to escape from him.
His Logia Goro Goro no Mi allowed him to become lightning itself—man is lightning, lightning is man, so in short, he was a lightning man. And lightning was supposed to be the most powerful force in nature. Over the years, Enel had fought all comers and never lost, so of course he didn't believe that this Blue Sea person before him could match him.
So what if the other party was also a Devil Fruit user? So what if he had taken down three priests in one blow? A god was invincible!
After unleashing his God's Judgment, Enel was ready to watch Ian die.
However, the moment the lightning struck down, he suddenly noticed Ian raising his right hand toward the sky.
Then, in the next second, a scene that made Enel's eyes nearly pop out occurred!
The lightning that had formed his right arm actually gathered back together in Ian's right palm, condensing into a ball of light that Ian held lightly in his hand.
"Th-this... how is this possible!?" Enel's mind went completely blank.
Ian lowered his arm, looked at the ball of lightning in his palm, gave it a light toss, and a mocking smile appeared on his face.
In fact, ever since he had dodged Enel's Heaven's Wrath at the edge of the forbidden area earlier, Ian had been thinking: could he control Enel's lightning?
After all... the card he had equipped, Misaka Mikoto, was known as the Electromaster! And inheriting the power of that card meant that, in theory, he should be a user capable of controlling lightning!
So, when Enel suddenly appeared this time, Ian couldn't resist giving it a try.
And the result proved that Ian's guess was correct! Not only could he now convert his own psychic power into lightning, but he could also control external lightning!
Enel's God's Judgment was nothing more than turning his body into lightning and striking it down. Once that lightning reached Ian's vicinity, Ian could use his own psychic power to easily tame it.
As an Electromaster, how could he possibly be struck by lightning?
Ian tossed the ball of lightning in his hand, then suddenly clenched it and hurled it back toward Enel, shouting, "Take it back!"
The ball of lightning transformed into a lightning spear, shooting straight at Enel.
Enel was still in a daze, and the lightning spear struck him directly. However, to Ian's disappointment, the moment the spear hit Enel's body, it instantly merged into him.
Actually, that made sense. The lightning was originally one of Enel's arms. Ian had simply returned it to its owner.
But even though being hit by this lightning spear didn't hurt him, it snapped Enel back to his senses. His right arm reformed, but he now stared at Ian with a serious expression.
He had a vague feeling that something was wrong.
Although he still couldn't understand how Ian could control the lightning he had fired, it was clear that Ian was the first person he had ever encountered who wasn't afraid of his lightning power.
"Maybe it's just a fluke?" Enel stared at Ian, his mind racing. "Maybe he used some method I don't know about to temporarily control the lightning?"
Holding onto this hope, Enel struck again. He tapped the thunder drums on his back with his golden staff.
"Sixty million volts! Thunder Dragon!"
As he struck the drums, a majestic lightning dragon burst forth from them, roaring as it flew toward Ian with its jaws wide open.
The air crackled with electric currents. The Thunder Dragon moved at the speed of lightning, reaching Ian in an instant and lunging at him.
But then, a scene that stunned Enel unfolded! Just as the Thunder Dragon was about to bite down, Ian suddenly spread his hands and grabbed the dragon's massive jaws from above and below. The moment he held it, the dragon's forward momentum was halted, as if Ian had pinned it in place.
Then, gripping the dragon's jaws, Ian pulled hard with both hands!
Crackle! A blinding flash of light filled the air. The Thunder Dragon that Enel had unleashed was torn apart by Ian's hands, dissolving into arcs of electricity that spread through the air.
Ian stood there calmly, surrounded by flickering arcs of lightning, but none of them could touch his body. It was as if a circular barrier around him blocked all the electricity.
Seeing this, Enel's jaw nearly hit the ground! That was a sixty-million-volt Thunder Dragon, and this man had torn it apart so easily!?
Ian knew that using the same lightning attack against Enel would be useless, so he didn't bother reusing the lightning Enel had fired. After tearing it apart, he leisurely raised his right hand, causing the bell on his wrist to jingle crisply.
Casually unwinding the cursed bandages on his wrist, he smiled at Enel and said, "Actually, I have a similar move too! Let me show you right now!"
As the cursed bandages came off, the air around him suddenly exploded into violent motion, triggering a burst of strong wind. This was caused by the sudden heat radiating from the air. A ring of black flames spread up Ian's right arm, freed from the bandages' restraint, and the black dragon tattoo on his wrist seemed to stir restlessly.
"Six thousand degrees! Black Dragon!"
Ian shouted, thrusting his right hand forward and unleashing the Black Dragon Wave toward Enel.
As for the six thousand degrees, that was just Ian messing around. He thought, "You, Enel, like to show off with your sixty million volts, so I'll return the favor with six thousand degrees..."
Whether the Black Dragon Wave actually reached six thousand degrees, Enel didn't know. But when the roaring demonic fire dragon flew toward him, he knew something was wrong! Even before the black fire dragon reached him, he could smell the burning in the air. Faced with such powerful flames, Enel didn't dare to take it head-on!
Earlier, when Ian had controlled his lightning to attack him, Enel had been shocked but not afraid, because he knew he was lightning itself, and the same lightning couldn't harm him. But now Ian had suddenly displayed such fierce fire power, completely catching Enel off guard.
Fortunately, Enel had a way to dodge. As lightning, he could move at lightning speed. In the next instant, a crackling sound came from where Enel stood, and he transformed into a bolt of electricity, flashing to the side to avoid the Black Dragon Wave.
This ability, similar to teleportation, was Enel's guarantee of never losing in battle.
However, unfortunately for him, Ian had never expected the Black Dragon Wave to hit Enel with its speed. So, the moment he fired it, Ian also moved!
Enel didn't know that he was currently within Ian's psychic field. Although Ian couldn't keep up with his movement speed, he could roughly predict where Enel would appear. And since Enel was only dodging the Black Dragon Wave, his position was even easier to judge.
When Enel's body reappeared, he was greeted by Ian's shadow looming over him. Looking up, he saw a black fist flying toward his face.
"Foolish!" Enel sneered, not bothering to dodge this time. He stood still, watching Ian's fist come at him.
His reasoning was sound: he was lightning. No one could physically strike lightning. This Blue Sea man was an idiot. Even if he could control lightning, he couldn't possibly put his body into it!
He would pay for this!
So Enel stood there with a mocking smile, watching Ian's fist close in...
Ignorance is truly terrifying. If Enel had known that there was a power in this world called Armament Haki, he might not have been so cocky.
With a loud thud, Enel's nose immediately burst into a spray of blood...
